Nuit is the mental embodiment and personification of that infinite possibility.

Now, does She exist, apart from thought? Well, yes, but only in the nature of what possibility inherently is.

Yet, if you point your mind at such infinite possibility in Devotion, constantly consecrating and perfecting the image, and speak to Her, you may experience Her communication.

Now, what you make of that is up to you.

"Hope this doesn't seem too uninformed. Is Nuit an actual conscious being or the collective consciousness of all sentient beings?"

Nuit's nature is inclusive and universal, no distinction, no differentiation. (The differentiation and distinction is expressed by Hadit.) Therefore, by definition, the name doesn't apply to any particular thing that could be distinguished from the rest of the whole.

That being true, your (a) vs. (b) are the same thing. If you think of her as "an actual conscious being," then the nature of that being is the totality - the whole universe - of which all other conscious units are a subset. If you think of her as "the collective consciousness of all sentient beings," then she is the whole of which they are components.

Same thing.

What is the difference? (Though I wouldn't say just the counsciousness of "all sentient beings;" I'd say the counsciousness of everything.)
