<![CDATA[Black Holes and Sech]]>And now for something completely different.

So it was kind of news to me a while back that astrophysicists were backing off the idea of a black hole having a singularity in the middle. And really, it's a kind of a philosophy of Math black or white.

They can't stand the idea of 0/0. It's Infinity, and that doesn't exist as a real thing. It's an abstract, a nonsense. A quantifier without limit ceases to function as a quantifier. To call it a "singularity" without that even meaning anything real... You haven't said anything real.

Okay, so that can't be the answer.

The Laws of Mathematics are presumed to have the absolute ability to describe the whole of reality.

That would be one side.

The other side of that would be that 0/0 actually does express something real, but it's not something that the Laws of Mathematics has the ability to describe. At some point there's a limit to it's ability to describe the place beyond space and time, where they collapse together. That's because the Laws of Math depend upon space and time to exist.

I mean, it could be consciousness itself. Describe consciousness with math... And if the singularity is sitting there formulating the equation... What are you gonna do? Draw an arrow to yourself?

It's just not how one thinks mathematically.

It's on the A.'.A.'. curriculum so I decided to give it a read a few weeks back and found it to be a wonderful little book on this topic. Not so much specific arithmetic and fundamental math but a definite grounding in mathematical geometry as the building blocks of reality and the mystical extension of that to the infinite.

Hmm.

When you multiply, there are three basic equations, and the answer is always pos or neg x^2. When you divide there are four and the answer is always either pos or neg 1. It creates an interesting analogy to the Qualities and Elements.

+0 * +0 = +0^2 = +0
-0 * -0 = +0^2 = +0
+0 * -0 (or) -0 * +0 = -0^2 = -0

Multiplication yields "pos or neg" 0.

+0 / +0 = +1
-0 / -0 = +1
+0 / -0 = -1
-0 / +0 = -1

Division yields pos or neg 1.

It's nonsense if we're talking about things. If we're talking about Consciousness, well, maybe there are functional analogies. The math of two things trying to express a third, different thing.
Math requires mentation.

But, yeah. I'll lay off and just ponder it unless there's more interest.

What if we consider 0 to a sort quantum state between four possiblities. Using division to express it (one could substitute multiplication), it would go as follows:

Plus divided by plus is plus.
Plus divided by minus is minus.
Minus divided by plus is minus.
Minus divided by minus is plus.

That sort of quantum zero exists, mathematically, as the one true relationship that expresses itself in four ways. But calculated to its core expression, by itself it has no values yet input into it and, thus, can only express itself as 0.

But the thing that it is... is awake.
