May 24 (Air) Liber LXV, Cap II, v. 33-34
-
**33. Ah! messenger of the beloved One, let Thy shadow be over me!
34. Thy name is Death, it may be, or Shame, or Love.
So thou bringest me tidings of the Beloved One, I shall not ask thy name.
** -
The messenger brings to mind Mercury - running to and fro. What is being spoken here seems much larger than that. Being in its shadow we are blocked from its full range of light. Much like being in Netzach with the Path of Nun (Death) connecting us to Tifereth.
It doesn't matter what we call it though, labels, all operations of the One Thing. What matters is that we can assimilate the Light of the Beloved One, receive it as a gift for our transformation. We don't have to label it, it is enough to receive as long as we are prepared and open.
-
It strikes me that anything soever can be a messenger of the beloved. Whatever it is, I take it and let it transform me.
Death, Shame, Love. So many experiences can fall under these concepts. It doesn't matter what it is, if it's from the beloved, and it is, it's a glad tiding.
