Erhard Seminars Training?
-
93s,
I did a course based on the original EST (Erhard Seminars Training)training from the 1960s / 1970s, after which I experienced what I can only call a mostly "neurosis-free" existence for a short period of time.
Post course, I experienced what I can only describe as archetypes (in particular what depth psychologists call the 4 mature masculine archetypes) as powerful surges running through my consciousness and seemingly unhindered by any kind of neuroses. I was also very much "in the moment" and I would quickly find that a new archetype was "behind the wheel" when my environment changed. For example when playing with my children I went straight into their world and played the "fool" after which I might naturally evolve to the magician, easily identifying their neuroses and magically countering them through my words, actions storytelling and use of imagination.
Sadly it didnt last - but at least I have a far more profound insight into my nature. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has done any of these course and whether they had similar experiences or whether someone might be able to place this experience on the Tree of Life - I know the archetypes would fit into certain spheres but in terms of the overall experience it seems that I for a moment touched Tipharet but perhaps only it's reflection in Yesod or even Malkuth or a temporary "balancing" of the paths in those spheres.
Any ideas?

I took the est training around 1982 and consider it not only one of the most valuable experiences of my life but also the single most Thelemic seminar, training, etc. I've ever experienced.
It's hard for me to say that particular mystical results came from it directly, since I was deeply involved in other, more direct work concurrently. - I can say that chasing back after experiences one once had is like trying to make your second acid trip be a copy of your first: You just ain't there anymore!
It does sound like you got the primary goals. I suggest you review the training (in its current form, the Landmark Forum) - as an est graduate, you are entitled to the much reduced review rate.

Thanks Jim,
I didn't actually do the EST course itself, but a sort of derivative run by someone who particiapted in the originals in the 1970s - seemingly, "a wise old alchemist tending his garden". I only did the course about a year ago and having spoken to others who have done other similar "derivatives" these courses are almost identical, from the "parenting" to the "role playing" (sometimes called "stretches") etc.
WOW! 'm glad to find another Thelemite saying how Thelemic you found the experience because it was as a result of this course that I finally embraced Thelema. Indeed it seems that the new Aeon is manifesting everywhere!
Of course it would be far too soon for a review at this stage - and yes, it was far more "alchemical" than mystical per se - I just feel like I need to put the experience into context, but I do intend to participate a lot more in this work as an assistant and perhaps eventually as a "facillitator" - if only to grasp it better myself.
