Does it all go back to the Rose And Cross

Hi everyone, and once again, thank you for your time and answers in advance...
I'm wondering if the Golden Dawn order, and even Thelema, like the freemasons, all goes back to the Rose Cross or to that teaching of Christian Rosenkreuz - I'm wondering if this is even so for the order of A∴A∴.

Thank you Jim - so in essence if all the teachings and so forth go back to the Rose Cross then why (aside from the masons) are there any new orders in the first places? What I mean is, why would there be Thelema or the A∴A∴ - why wouldn't everyone just join the order rosae crucis?

In one sense, if they join a genuinely connected, "plugged-in" order, they do join the Order Rosae Crucis - or, at least, an outer vehicle inspired by it or led by its spirit.
Are you thinking that some physical order exists that is a single, direct descendant of that wrote the Fama Fraternitatis in 1604 and released it to the public a few years later? [Yes, I noticed the name you selected <g>.] If so, I think that opinion is an error. No existing order, fraternity, etc. is an uninterrupted actual continuator of that. (For example, to take the most obvious example, AMORC's claims are the most successful malarkey.)
While holding to the explicit truth of what I just said, I will also say that the Inner College of A.'.A.'. is, most explicitly, that Order described in the Fama. One does "join the order rosae cruces" by successfully undertaking the work of the A.'.A.'. grades through 5=6.
Other orders in a Rosicrucian tradition - from the Golden Dawn through all of its successors including Temple of Thelema - are best thought of as being inspired by and informed by that which the authors of the Fama described.
