    PLEASURE
    Six of Cups

Meditation Pattern Place Atu XIX, The Sun, and Atu XIII, Death, side-by-side, with the 6 of Cups above them.

Traditional Description: A group of stems of water-lilies or lotuses, from which six flowers bend, one over each cup. From these flowers, a white glistening water flows into the cups as from a fountain; but they are not yet full. Above and below are symbols Sol and Scorpio, referring to the Decanate.

Tiphereth of Water: Harmony and beauty in matters of the heart. Beginning of a wish, hap- piness, success, or enjoyment. Well-being, harmony of natural forces without strain, ease, satisfaction, pleasure.

Sol/Scorpio: Commencement of steady increase, gain, and pleasure; but commencement on- ly. Preeminently a fertile card; putrefaction as a basis of all fertility, of all life. Fulfillment of the sexual Will. Also affront, detection, knowledge, and in some instances contention and strife aris- ing from unwarranted self-assertion and vanity. Sometimes thankless and presumptuous; some- times amiable and patient (according to dignity as usual).

Sol + Sol: (Reinforces all solar traits.)

    • Flowering, opening up (NB: the flower serves for the fruit, but it is primarily a phenomenon of Beauty); mysteries of Life & Death: sexual mysteries, for the initiated.
    • Richness, fertility – aaah, such Pure Fertility!
    • I see White as color-expression of this card.
    • Death of Ego and opening ones’s heart for Love (which knows no discrimination).
    • Reflection of Beauty in the eyes of the beholder.
    • “The length of thy longing shall be the strength of its glory. He that lives long & desires death much is ever the King among the Kings.”

    • Putrefaction as basis for life (and fermentation).
    • Respect for cycles and rhythms, ripening comes in its own time; to follow natural processes (allowing them to happen uninterrupted): this gives pleasure.
    • That which observes and is conscious during this (the life-death fluctuations, day-night, etc) is the &-of-Cups aspect of the psyche.
    • Pleasure for human beings is in the pure Joy of sharing.
    • Ecstasy of dissolution; but also that Love which defines the relationship of the center of the wheel to its circumference.

    • Female aspect of devotion of Adept’s heart to his/her Angel.
    • Creative potential of Joy-Death (la petite mort).
    • Awareness of own immortality (as undeniable, intuitive knowledge, not reasoning and theory).

    Day one
Death as the means / the access to joy, freedom & self-expression, deep sexual gratification, breaking taboos, embracing transformation, giving up one's pride and standing in what's possible, experiencing a pivotal moment, courage to correct one's wrongs, slight cockiness but necessary to get the job done

    Day two
Self-satisfaction, self-gratification sometimes at the expense of the respect of others, self-gratification through being of service to others, cleaning up one's messes after getting the impact on others, learning from one's mistakes, self-sacrifice for the greater good, correcting one's foolishness, having one's self-centered ways of being and acting wreak havoc on others, transforming one's Self to support the transformation of others.

    Day three
If ill-dignified this card is basically saying "I'm gonna do me", childish indulgence in what makes you happy without any care of regard for the consequences on others. Growth and transformation through being of service. Putting your personal concerns to the side take care of others.
