    SORROW
    Three of Swords

Meditation Pattern: Place Atu XXI, The Universe, and Atu VIII, Adjustment, side-by-side, with the 3 of Swords above them.

Traditional Description: Three swords, upright, as though the central sword had struck apart the two others (which were crossed in the Two of Swords). The central sword cuts asunder a rose of five petals, which, in the Two of Swords, grew at the swords’ junction. Its petals are falling; no white rays issue from it. Above and below the central sword, the symbols Saturn and Libra.

Binah of Air: Unhappiness, sorrow, disappointment, melancholy, tears, division.

Saturn/Libra: Disruption, interruption, separation, discontent, quarreling; sowing of discord and strife, mischief-making, sorrow and tears; secrecy, perversion. An intense lurking passion to create, but monstrous or deformed in result; yet mirth in Platonic pleasures. Faithful in promises, conscientious, dutiful; honesty in money transactions; selfish and dissipated, yet sometimes generous; deceitful in words and repetitions.

Saturn + Saturn: (Reinforces all Saturn traits.)

      • Saturn in its loftiest...
      • Equilibrium, justice and necessity of the Law which is in continuity-of-Motion; nature of interconectedness between phenomena (such that it includes both joy and suffering, as necessary): all of this is in the eye of the beholder from the Three-of-Swards perspective; he/she sees it, accepts it and thus understands it.
      • This is not the sorrow of feelings (like sadness), but un-atached awareness of the nature and functioning of the Universe; everything is exactly as it should be; the human aspect of consciousness experience sorrow here as a part of the experience of Empathy, which is essentially Love.
      • Calmness of mind and heart.
      • For uninitiated: various “problems” stemming from the partial, segmentary view of experience (pain, anxiety, etc.)

      ………………………………………………………………

      • Colour: dark, dark blue with admixture of emerald green; impression: very cold, but extraordinary pleasant: purity, Truth in cosmic sense.
      • Truth, Justice, Order; Cosmic law that allows no deviation.
      • Inexorability of the limitations (defined forms) of material existence: this is what disciplines, teaches us, it’s the very essence of the experience of incarnation!
      • Fate/destiny and all related issues as subject for the mind.
      • Paradoxes of existence exposed to the light of mind.

      ………………………………………………………………

      • The mind sees/observes Time: the mind is determined by it, and it’s a symbol of mind’s border (BUT: Linea Viridis Gyrat Universa!)
      • Phenomenon of Time as such: Tempus; tempus temporum & tempus infinitio;
the body; pain; the border of own Temple (temple-without-walls): it has only Pillars (three of them).
      • Holistic approach to phenomena.

        Day one:
Transcience, limitation, school of hard knocks, mourning, a good thing coming to an end, death, temporality, an existential crisis, resignation & cynacism

        Day two:
pain & anguish, separation, a break up, depression, confronting the fact that everything has a shelf life, suffering, grief, unexpected & unfortunate turn of events, bringing completion to a situation, being separated from what one desires, a broken agreement

        Day three:
being dismissive, being a dick, stoic, staunch, cold & callous, real discipline, understanding pain as a necessary component of growth and development
