It always seems that in & around the full moon my mind becomes 'foggy' & I have an insatiable appetite for drugs & food...anything that is 'instantly gratifying' - & even when I get it I still feel aweful. I wouldn't call it depression or despair - but it is a certain 'blah' that happens without variation. Every full moon leaves me absolutely drained...any ideas as to why this occures or what I may do about it?

    93,

I don't have a copy around right now, but you might find Yeats' A Vision interesting. It's a difficult text, and his comments on it don't help much. But he refers to the Full and New Moon times as points when "no man is truly himself." (We can assume he meant women too!) The whole text covers the full 28 days.

The two extremes of the lunar cycle are going to bring out the extremes in ourselves. The Moon represents subconsciousness - what's inside us. I often feel low or unable to do much with myself at Full Moon, and relieved at New Moon. New Moon often marks a release from burdens or accumulated tensions.

If the Moon is reflecting sunlight (self-authority, or activation of patterns) then there can be too much at Full Moon, and a death/rebirth point at New Moon.

    93 93/93,

    EM
