Can anyone direct me to an honest source to learn how one structures and determines in the Thelemic manner? I thought I had it, but I have since found that I was wrong. For instance, I thought that today would be -
Sol in 14° Libra :Luna 10° Capricornin : Anno IVxv
First of all, today is Oct. 6th, 2008. So what I'm attempting to learn, is what exactly this statement means, and how to translate each day into Thelemic time. finally, the difference between listing it as degrees or decans?

You have the year one digit off. It's IVxv (2008-904 = 104, which is 4 x 22 plus an additional 16). You have the Tropical longitude of the Sun and Moon correct for one particular time today.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? You seem to have it down.
Also BTW the Tropical zodiac part isn't Thelemic per se, it's more Crowleyan. But the year count is purely Thelemic.

Well, I guess I was looking to know more about its background...when/why was it created, and by whom? Why do some people want the time stated in "decans" vs. degrees?

Who wants the time stated in decanates instead of degrees? This is the first I've heard of this in the last 30-40 years.
BTW it isn't "time" (as in hour) but rather date that is being stated.

The person that admitted me into the AA as a Probationer pointed out to me that when I signed my Oath I didn't use decanates. It was neither a judgemental statement, nor did he indicate that it was the wrong way, but did say that he signed my Oath even though I didn't use decanates. With my nature the way it is, I thought to seek out more information on the Thelemic time system, and am researching it on a couple of websites, but a teacher is always the best source, and my direct question about it with him was met with silence, so I assumed he wants me to find the answer for myself. I know in the AA you never know the other members, but, at the same time, you're supposed to proclaim your affiliation, so I don't feel me admitting that I'm a Probationer violates that rule.
