The Inward Gaze
[A Yogi’s Perspective on Evocation]Regarding the Animus & Anima. In thelemite terminology you may recognize the relationship as Nuit [macrocosm] to Hadit [microcosm]. Your chosen motto will literally color your persona in such a way that the lens with which you gaze inward toward this impression & will inform you with its designated character/filter.
In samadhi; Tiphareth reflects Kether perfectly, i.e. Pan being the annihilation of All. In order to see clearly & remove the fetters of a "revolving" or "fragmented" lens: first envision yourself as God directing your gaze inward toward your heart, i.e. toward yourself. Second conjure an image of yourself [within your Tiphareth, or Anahata Chakra] in your mind & look upon it, in the same aforementioned manner.
Mages who spend too much time alone often drift in & out of reverie with this inward projection, & often believe it to be independent of themselves. It is elusive in that it may reflect any give characteristic your mind has settled on, & then vanish. I myself have experienced this phenomena, and after entering samadhi in June; it became a source of tremendous discomfort.
If it is clearly a feminine character, then it is merely your crown informing your heart of its receptive attitude toward the universe. It will only be masculine when you choose to engage the macrocosm [outside world], as in conversation with another person, *. This in essence, is Pan, the masculine potency. Within western occult tradition, this phenomena has been symbolized as the phallus representing the sense organ in a dynamic context; & this inward projection or spermos ** literally reflecting the potency of a person's attitude toward the cosmos. Meditation at regular intervals daily [along with regularly alternating exercise or work] is a good method to recognizing this, being your relationship to the universe.
Another thing any GD initiates might wish to consider *: The Golden Dawn is a rosicrucian organization, that is to say "christian". YHShVH, pentagrammaton is flesh; i.e. Jesus is the universal ithyphalic symbol; Shin encompassing my observation of "spermos/serpent" or body of light.
What the GD has ultimately failed to grasp is that their progressive initiations detach their consciousness from their animal soul, until that point the Dharmakaya or Law/Word/Logos or God for all intents & purposes, no longer holds sway on their minds. I.e. their system of initiations do not allow the birth of the individual Body of Light via samadhi. Thus, their souls collecting all of the unimaginable filth the universe can throw at them, without informing their consciousness. Because of this, they do not feel the ebb & flow of the universal tides & currents, & they do not witness first-hand the trouble they create with their magick. Essentially they feel that "all is well", even though their extra sensory perception is blind to their otherwise receptive psyche. To add insult to injury; the various forms of hermetic kabbalah they espouse demand that any intelligence or force which is not of their own being [planetary energies etc] to communicate via symbolism; as their distorted perception projects without hindrance the samskaras/patterns/order of their sterilized brain [the mechanism of consciousness].
Regarding evocation, & especially enochian magick goetia & the triangle of art; the triangle represents the unity of the supernal triad; the body being the skrying stone in this instance. This is of course a controversial subject to any GD initiate, as they feel the triangle of art itself is the astral construct & medius operandi; but sorry to disappoint, it is still simply a symbol; a projection.
What is important to understand is that "evocation" is actually an inward projection & anthropomorphizing of the influence of macrocosmic forces latent in our earthly abode. Given the level of success of Enochian magick practitioners & the consensus that the enochian angels are elastic in respect of the practitioner's own chosen religion & symbol system; it is not unwise to believe we have been confusing the map for the terrain.
Essentially, a GD initiate becomes completely bereft of light, & the indwelling presence of God is withdrawn from the initiate's own psyche; in exchange for this bargain, they disperse their own sterilized perception of divinity upon the masses in the form of information, which is the source of their magick & the method whereby they cause change. Being the inundation of society & the pollution of what was ultimately widely regarded as Holy; the fertile minds of those spiritual aspirants who approach spirituality from a philosophical perspective & not a magickal one. Perpetuating a vicious cycle.
Knowledge is a byproduct of the mechanism of the mind, and only perceptible to humanity, simply the refuse of our evolving psyche. An example of this philosophical stance is apparent in our technology. Knowledge can be transmitted in various forms, sound waves & light particles. Take for example the transmitting of knowledge in light, via infrared technology & via holographic technology. The light itself exists independently of the information we weld to it, however the pattern for light itself is latent in nature, as the periodic table of elements. Hence the Sun.

Animus deos not equal macrocosm or microcosm and Anima does not equal macrocosm or microcosm - they are, according to Jung, unconscious archetypes for females and males respectively. Also I dont see Nuit as Macrocosm and Hadit as Microcosm; I see Hadit as the core of the Microcosm which is one with the Macrocosm and Nuit as the sum of the Macrocosm which is one with the Microcosm. But thats just me.

I wonder what God gazing inward would look at...
"Second conjure an image of yourself [within your Tiphareth, or Anahata Chakra] in your mind & look upon it, in the same aforementioned manner."
Yourself as yourself or yourself as Yourself?
Your symbolism seems all well and dandy but your conclusions regarding G.D. not detaching from animal soul etc seem unfounded...

The examination of my experience with the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn initiation is as valid as any, & ended the night I entered into samadhi.
Regarding Nuit as Macrocosm; you are taking my examination out of context with the rest of the essay.

What is outside is a reflection of what is inside. That is, whatever we see inside us, effects how we see the things outside us.
So for those who don't know themselves --weather as a separate magickal being, or as "the self"-- , all is bleak. And for those of us, we merry souls, who do --magician or yogi or any other sort-- live lives filled with the bliss of existance. So lets settle on "meditation is good."

Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
how i love the bliss of existence! yet i harken to a time when i did not so easily recognize the bliss for what it is, and even thought, at times, that it was every opposite of bliss. as Had is my Light and Nu the Object of my desire I am thankful that I can feel the bliss in it all. Nevertheless I sometimes fall from grace and mistake the chaos around me for sorrow. ORDO AB CHAO the words strike my mind and once again i engage in the dance trading sorrow for sorrow and enjoying the beatitude which is all. So seeing as I am so lucky to even experience this level of awareness and even sustain it, have I a duty to help others achieve it?
what motives actually admit one to the mysteries?
