the 4 major Forces of physics
-
Strong Nuclear Force, Weak Nuclear interaction, Electro-magnetic Force and Gravitational Attractiveness
has anyone attributed these 4 basic constituents of our universe to Aristotle's/Vedanta's 4 occult elements or is this missing the point about a basic observation about 3D matter and it's 4 states?
-
I do not know if it would agree with Aristotle's/Vedanta's views, but I have always seen it as :
Fire = Strong Force
Being, it is the main "glue" that holds things together (primary element)Water = Weak Force
Being, it is often associated with beta decay (water being the primary solution)Air = Electromagnetism
Being, it is a mixture of electricity/magnetismEarth = Gravity
Being, it only really has an effect when we start considering objects with large masses -

You might want to rethink this...
For example electricity and magnetism were thought ot be separate until Faraday & MAxwell and electro-magnetism. People are trying now to unify these forces into one equation that will describe them all.
That is, they are not the absolute fundamental forces, they are the ones we can not combine easily with formulae.

I've thought about this too, though Aum418's objection is correct -- it's generally a mistake to take associations between scientific ideas and occult symbolism too seriously because the science is liable to change out from under you, and your lovely theory that the luminiferous ether is the astral light, or whatever, becomes a joke. Nonetheless, in the spirit of not taking myself too seriously, this is what I came up with:
Electromagnetism = Fire. Most of what we think of as energy in our daily lives is some form of electromagnetism, and fire is the element that seems most energy-like.
Gravity = Water. Like love, which I associate with water, gravity is a universal attractive force. If you've ever read an explanation of Einstein's theory that gravity is a result of a curvature of space, you've seen that diagram of a grid with a cup-like depression, and a cup is the symbol of water.
Weak Force = Air. The weak force is mainly responsible for exchange of information among subatomic particles. (Okay, that's not very persuasive.)
Strong Force = Earth. The strong force is what holds atoms together, and is what makes solid matter possible. I think of atoms as like disks, and associate solidity with earth.

hey that's an impressive description

the unified ($) theory would therefore correllate to Akasha i.e the all pervasive omnidimensional unifying element

Indeed it would, but the point is that its 'fourness' is completely arbitrary. It used to be two, electromagnetism & gravity until we looked really close into the subatomic level and found we couldnt do without describing 2 new 'forces' - weak & strong. It should be noted that gravity is by far the weakest force, although this may sound strange initially... electromagnetism is orders of magnitude stronger than gravity & strong and weak forces are orders of magnitude stronger than EM and gravity. If you think about the atom, both gravity and EM have virtually no effect on them... if the power of the 'weak' or strong force were amplified to the size of EM and gravity, it would be extremely powerful. Just something to chew on.

I actually was just thinking about the four forces and how they are defined by their carriers:
EM- Photon - Fire / Illumination
Strong - Gluon - Water / Cohesion
Weak - WZ Boson - Air / Radioactivity
Gravity - Graviton - Earth / Theoretical / 3+1 Doubled HHow about adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine? I have no idea.

Unfortunately such surface comparisons do not withstand the necessary mathematical corollary.
There is quite a bit of overlap, but it is not so obvious.
I'd recommend avoiding such comparison without a firm grasp of the math and derived theories that create such structures.
-
Lest we forget Franz Bardon's associations:
Fire - electricity
Water - magnetism
Air - electromagnetism
Earth - gravityI wouldn't take any of these associations very seriously, but playing with the symbols in this way can help illuminate associations, relationships and patterns and generally lead to better understanding.
