93,
I am at work and I don’t have my copy of the M&MS A.A. in front of me at the moment. But, I have a question that been bugging me. Can I correctly map the A.A. steps using the Minor Arcana?
If I understand the system correctly, it would resemble something like this.
Neophyte: 10 of Pentacles: Malkuth in Assiah.
Zelator: 9 of Swords: Yesod in Yetzirah.
Practicus: 8 of Swords: Hod in Yetzirah.
Philosopher: 7 of Swords: Netzach in Yetzirah.Adapt minor: 6 of Cups: Tiphareth in Briah.
Adapt major: 5 of Cups: Geburah in Briah.
Exempt adapt: 4 of Cups: Chesed in Briah.Master of the Temple: 3 of Wands: Binah in Atziluth.
Magus: 2 of Wands: Chokmah in Atziluth.
Ipsissimus: Ace of Wands; Kether in Atziluth.Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I tried that at many points along the way, and always came away dissatisfied. I think it's too narrow.
Your layout is technically correct. But look at the other cards of the same number to see what you are missing. Zelator, though it deals with Nephesh issues, is far too joyous to be expressed only by the 9 of Swords and miss the 9 of Cups or even Wands. The other Yetziratic-stage grades could pull similar remarks. OTOH the Tiphereth grade, for example, completely captures the nature of the 6 of Disks as much as Cups (the entire manifets world is beautiful in the beatific vision), the severities of all 5s can and will play out in the Adeptus Major, etc.
