Liber HHH

Don't now much about that last bit, I have to admit.
There is a prescription drug called "Abilify" available from psychiatrists that can help calm things down. They're likely to label it as the manic phase of bipolar disorder.

...sounds like the Judaic conceptualization of the post-Messianic age, no?

That's actually an interesting comment because (while I do think Gopi Krishna is describing the actual symptomology) the side effect of all those doors of perception being opened before it's time is that the person is instantly hurled into the psycho-spiritual drama of dealing with all of the most deeply repressed aspects of their personality. And, in my mind, at least, that ties in with the spirit of what you said.
Some of this is personal opinion mixed with the more scholarly thoughts of others. If I have time tonight, I'll post a quote from Occult Psychology - a horribly underappreciated little book.

Not wrong.

I was hinting more at 358, but I see your point.

"the only way open to nature to avoid a catastrophe is to use liberally the ambrosia contained in the humans eed and to rush it in a sublimated form to the brain"
I suspect they are referring to retrograde ejaculation where the sperm enters the bladder. Some yogis believe that the sperm goes to the brain.

"The only piece of Liber HHH I have touched on is MMM at the same time practicing the Shin-of-Shin Mental operations, which are almost one and the same, or am I wrong?"
On that note, I was wondering if anyone knew why in paragraph 14 of section AAA it says, "Then shalt thou withdraw thyself from the Vision, gathering thyself into the divine form of Osiris upon his throne."
Why is it not Horus, or is this meditation based on another version of Ritual CXX than that commonly found on the internet?

That's a really good question. Yes, in that spot, if this were a direct one-for-one equation, I'd expect Horus.
I think the answer is that the meditation is not the same as the ritual, and it isn't a direct one-for-one. Other things are represented differently in AAA than in the ritual itself. Going just from memory, in doing HHH decades ago as a 2=9, the Osiris presence felt intuitively right (at least, not wrong) and (without checking diaries) I think mostly registered just as the Sun, especially the Midnight Sun.
-
Thanks very much for your response Jim. I can sort of follow your intuitive logic (forgive the oxymoron) there.
"Other things are represented differently in AAA than in the ritual itself."
Yes, I would have to agree with you there. Which made me wonder if the meditation was actually from somewhere else, such as the 'Ritual of Passing through the Waters', which of course is similar in many respects. In point 12 of that ritual it states, "The insight of Horus is given unto him in the power of Hoor and Isis. He is Asar." Although the rest of that ritual does not fit as well with the mediation as does Ritual CXX.
Thanks again.

Extracts from Kundalini: the Evolutionary Energy in Man (Shambhala Press 1967, Gopi Krishna)
Online (cienceandreligion.com/gk/kundalini_gk.htm "I use to have that book!!!, HOLY SHIT was it a good read, and this mf goes deep in decribing prana, energy, kundalini ect... If any of you have not read it, get it. other then that i cant say anything else b/c i cannot do that book justice on this forum.
that book "will" blow your mind away.

In order to avoid the serious problems with forcing kundalini upwards, it may also be instructive to see how Taoists do chi kung which is roughly equivalent to pranayama.
For instance, one of their most important practices is one called Small Universe in which you also raise the energy from the root of penis along the spine and all the way to the brain. However, Taoists also say that the brain is good for reflecting and transforming energy, but not so good at storing it. In fact it can be dangerous. That's why the Small Universe practice also includes directing the energy from the brain like a stream of water along the front of your body to your dantian in your lower belly. They say this is a safe place to store the energy.
Also, the Taoists maintain that you shouldn't force the energy to flow to one place. Instead, you just focus your will on the place and the energy should flow there, provided you're experienced enough.
There are also some easy to read books about Taoist sexual techniques, called The Multi-orgasmic Man and The Multi-orgasmic Couple, by Mantak Chia et al.

Quick question on HHH... MMM, initial stages is he talking about rigidity and resultant phenomena induced by long successful asana, or just guided visualization?

The entire HHH is a series of consciously willed images and states of mind. This isn't a spontaneous effect (the lightning flash etc.) - but neither is it just a simple visualization. After the preliminaries you actually make the event occur.
(This meditation is worth undertaking at different levels of skill. That, in part, is why it is given to the 1=10, but not required to be passed until moving from 2=9 to 3=8.)

Thank you!
