"A Thelemic Utopia"

lol... I know, and who can argue against any of your thoughts without themselves embodying them, right?
But, sincerely...
What do the Shepherds of Hermes preach? How can I teach a person to individuate, and thus take their own Divine Rank and role in the living Body of Nuit, if I can't ever affirm their impulses to motherliness, mercy, and compassion? If I can't describe an individual's True Will in those terms, where will the mothers of the Warriors come from? How will families be made stable enough to survive and thrive without any room made for water and salt?
I'm concerned about adaptability of response. If all you have is a hammer, then, yeah, everything might as well be a nail. When it's all said and done, I need to hear a little more about some of the other tools in the psychic medicine bag of the Aeon besides Ra Hoor Khuit. Yes, a hammer is a primary tool, but I'm trying to cut a diamond here...
For Esau sold his birthright for just a bowl of beans
While Jacob wrestled with his Angel and won everything. -

"The world never has been and never will be at peace. It is the
continuous War of ALL against ALL.
In order to live you have to take the life of plants and animals.
In order to express your will you have to push, shove and slaughter those who get in your way."A simple fact of the initiation process, plainly demonstrable to anyone who persists in following it, is that this perspective is eventually seen to just that - a perspective, not ultimate fact. By the same token, anyone who holds solely to this position is showing him or herself to be locked into an anti-initiation stance, adhering to ego-based mental structures rather than loosening them to expand awareness and understanding.
Of course we suffer pain, theft, loss, conflict, death and all the rest. This is one side of the picture, but as Frater LA points out, it's solely that - one side. Thus, if we take the content of Chapter III of Liber L and apply it solely to Assiah, then yes, we're obviously heading into a couple of millennia of predicted apocalypse, and only the psychopaths will survive. If we see it as a call to inner discipline and transformation, then the perception of apparent conflict existing within a purposeful universe transforms our understanding. We start to recognize that it's our assumed need to push, shove and slaughter that prevents us from seeing this.
And we don't need to be hugely advanced adepts to grasp that. We just have to be willing to let some of our more cherished anxieties dissolve a little.

Behold...! The gift of interpretation of tongues..! lol...

I never said that this violence is bad. Victory in battle is fulfilling, and the Darwinian results can't be denied as necessary to hone the strength of the race.
How is such a "perspective" not initiation, what about 6=5 the initiation of severity?
Is Mars not also of the Gods?
and does not even Jupiter's divine wisdom strike as a violent thunderbolt of Satori? (path of the star) -
Oh, Absolutely..!
And I applaud your defense of it as scholarly and masterful...! Seriously...
It's just, honestly, as a seeker to what has truly become the Temple of Thelema in my own psyche, I guess the thing that I can't get off my mind is whether the perspective of that initiation, key to this Aeon, is the only perspective allowed within the Temple?
Because I'm incredibly undisciplined and un-advanced as far as what I see as the grade-system of operational definitions goes. I get that. But, you know, seeking at this Temple, I'm of the nature and temperament to have touched my own small piece and color of this Unity, and it's simply more Green than Red, the apparent color of the Aeon.
So, what part does my Libran Green-ness play in what can only be described as this big Red Temple..? Because I was born to be a shepherd and a counselor of the soul. And what voice do I have if not to balance Aries' horned hunt for the Egg?
-
Red is the color of Babalon
of course the color of Nuit is Blue and Gold (The azure sky with it's golden stars)and the earth herself is green.
There is a place and a caste for every temperament in the new aeon.
Even the slaves find a place to serve.
As the lover's triad in the OTO is concerned with compassion for the members, in helping with problems and distribution of resources. Also the Empress of the tarot, and the sphere of Chesed.
The Aeon in the Force of fire, but while fire destroys it is also nurtures the well being of the tribe. Fire warms the body and the soul. Fire is ultimately altruistic in it's egoism. Greedily burning all that it can, it gives it's light and warmth freely.
also copper burns green.

Listen: Michael speaks truly to Auriel...
And Auriel responds...
A king in the great red world may become a piteous slave in the beautiful green (though I must admit the truth of the opposite as well). At times, this is a warning to me. At times, this is my Victory. That's the perspective of this Libra anyway, and the message of this poor shepherd of Hermes... lol...
Don't take that as a slight. What you said was worthy of thought. I hope you find what I have said to be worthy as well.
Peace. lol

Here - call it an ancient wisdom teaching...
"Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey?"
-
there's a difference between a servant and a slave.
withouth the conscious full responsibility, every service (every work, that is) is a slavery.
ergo - the slaves are those who go 'blind' through their expirience(s) in life, although they have the eyes and ability to see.
that's why it is so important *on the individula level * to understand the law of Thelema and consequently live by it - it demands full acceptance of personal responsibility for one's own life. -
I love movies where I can hear the various characters within myself debating. Watchmen was like this. Great film, by the way. The Monty Python films are others.
Another funny one, and one that seems really applicable, if we can all stand to laugh a bit at ourselves, is Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, an internet film created by Joss Whedon.

Maybe at the early stages of initiation it appears that way but eventually the ability to view and confront reality as it is, grows and develops. To accept the plain and simple fact that war and violence have always been extant on planet Earth is the mature and objective viewpoint. It is not a matter of perspective. It is historical fact.
Now that does not prevent the enlightened individual soul from building a small reality for himself amidst the insanity of the whole. Many years ago I moved into a much bigger house than I needed in a fantastic neighborhood in order to get my kid into the best school district in the state (and also among the best in the nation). Later, when I no longer needed that big a house I dawdled a bit till I saw the real estate bubble peaking and I sold and then paid cash for a beautiful place in the mountains with a million dollar view but almost half the square footage of the previous residence. I am self employed and work when I want to, as hard as I want to. Though I am willing to draw on either or both if and or when it suits me. (My skillset is desirable in the gubmint right now and I could draw a hefty salary and benefits were I to move that direction... but for now I think I'll just enjoy the scenery).
Note that I am not locked solely into any position. I bend like the reed. When it suits me.

I don't deny war and violence at all. I'm very clearly aware of them, and over time have sought out people who have experienced them in extreme ways to try to understand that experience better.
My point was that clear awareness of the war and violence as processes within a greater whole is the initiated perspective. The universe is an ecology, and to stress the violent aspect over the greater totality that contains and absorbs it, strikes me as dubious, if not silly. The universe is stable as such an ecology, in that it changes constantly, and not only by violent means. Stress on the violent aspect usually stems from resistance to that change.
History, and its facts, occur within eternity - not vice-versa.
I'm never clear what a 'mature' viewpoint is because it seems to be whatever the person using the term feels it should mean. Whether an initiate is 'mature' or, in the Aeon of the Child, isn't beguiled by such self-protective labels, is probably an equally subjective issue.

heh... or daft and absurd?
Or maybe just a necessary step. Recognizing and accepting the reality of the violence is not "stressing" it but merely recognizing it and accepting it as a reality to be dealt with.
One can see and accept the reality or not. Take it or stall. You choose. For myself, I have accepted reality and I have chosen to carve out my own corner of reality on the edge of the insanity.
Were it not for my wife's vehement opposition to living in Mexico I would easily join my ex-pat pals there.
