Books on the Student Syllabus, among other things

Ok, questions:
- For the Shiva Sanhita, or The Hathayoga Pradipika - does the translator matter? I.e. is there a specific translation I must have?
- If I went the route of joining the ToT or the CoT, would I need all the books on the syllabus just as if I formally applied to the A.'.A.'. to be accepted as a Student? I should probably get the books anyway, but I'm just wondering.
- For the Tao Te Ching - I found a book with 6 different translations, including Crowley's. Is this acceptable? It's about a third of the price of the book that is only Crowley's translation.

Actually, I thought of another question too:
- The Goetia - I found a book titled, "The Goetia the Lesser Key of Solomon the King: Lemegeton, Book 1 Clavicula Salomonis Regis." Is this what is meant by "The Goetia or The Lemegeton of Solomon the King" on the Student Syllabus?

First question: Translator shouldn't matter.
Second, I can't answer.
Third, shouldn't matter. Crowley's is a really good translation but really, there are several that are good. If you get the one with a few different translations, then it could probably help give you even more insight into their meaning.

You mean for the Student curriculum? No, it isn't specified. It only matters on such practical things like whether the translation is any good

That sounds interesting. Certainly it would qualify. - Technically the Student curriculum calls for the Legge translation, which I imagine is in the one you mentioned.
