Explanation of V.V.V.V.V

Yes, it was Crowley's 8=3 motto. That is, it is the Name, or expression, of his Neshamah.
When he was not yet a Magister - a mere Adept - this seemed to be something entirely different from himself, experienced as if it were another.
He reported it the way he experienced it, i.e., as what seemed to him the truth.
So, in his early (pre-1910) writings, it sounds like it's someone else.
PS - Consider that the sample line you quoted is descriptive of Neshamah - super-consciousness, or cosmic consciousness - itself, rather than limiting it to "Crowley's" Neshamah.

Some of my simple thoughts:"V.V.V.V.V" means: (in latin
"Vi veri universum vivus vici" Eng."By the force of truth I have conquered the universe while living".This name is actually mentioned in Liber 65, ch. V, v. 16.: "For the Magistry of this Opus is a secret magistry; and the sign of the master thereof is a certain ring of lapis-lazuli with the name of my master, who am I, and the Eye in the Midst thereof". In this verse, Master Therion speaks of his name V.V.V.V.V. as if it is a Superior, but references to his identification with V.V.V.V.V. in this chapter are numerous: "...for I who am thou am he, and the Pillar is 'stablished in the void" (Ch. V, v. 25).
How is it possible for The Eye to abide in the midst of a name of the Master?! There is maybe one solution: The 5 V's form a Pentagram. In the mids thereof is the Eye of Horus - very similar to the Symbol Pi inside a pentagram.
This is mysteriously also the Seal of Theodor Reuss. Ref. hermetic.com/dionysos/reuss.htmWhy is the Eye in the midst? Interpretations are many, but one may be like this: "The One Eye abides in the centre of victory of the power of truth over this universe. These two symbolic sides of this sign are valid based on internal evidence, because Eye is a symbol of Light and Truth.

That's somewhat bastardized Latin, though. The correct form is VI VERUM VNIVERSUM VIVUS VICI, "I, by the force of truth, have conquered the Universe in my lifetime."
For the purposes of Crowley's motto, the precise form of the Latin is less important, though, than the initials, which are intact in any case.

I've always taken the Five V's as analogous to the 5 points of the Pentragram, or Tetragrammaton (Elements/Four Powers of the Sphinx) with the inclusion of Spirit, in addition to the standard Latin rendering.

I always think of Geburah when I see this. The 4 fives are maybe showing Geburah in action on the 4 planes of reality.
Or it could represent Force being applied in Chesed since there are 4 fives (4=Chesed). (5=Geburah) Geburah is the first manifestation of Force so it is pure Force from the perspective of those below the Abyss. So this could be Force in its balanced form below the Abyss.
I am not going to comment on pentagrams as I really don't think this has anything to do with pentagrams.

For one thing, it is five Vs, not four. For another, Crowley himself related it to the pentagram

Oh...I feel like an idiot:p
Anyway, right after my post i realized that if you add them up you get 25 which is the same as Liber XXV. Liber XXV is used to banish the old Aeon influence and replaces it with the new Aeon influence.
So I got my 777 out and looked in the Sephper Sephiroth. 25 is a very interpreting number. For one it equals ChYVA which is the name of** The Beast** a name used by A.C. In addition 25 equals the Hebrew for Jehewid, God of Geburah of Binah also "To Break" and "Will be separated". In addition 25 equals the numbers of the Sephiroth of the middle pillar( 1+6+9+10).
So all this seems to imply the world banishing of the Old Aeon influences. This seems to be true to me based on what I know of A.C.
Now I need to go do Liber XXV and Liber Resh
