And the secret name of the priestess is Maya. And in her womb are born all Buddhas (Ipsissimus).

I wouldn't at all equate "a Buddha" with "an Ipsissimus" - I'd drop down a couple of grades - but I agree with the first part.

Hello, all. New to the forum. I've been wanting to throw this out there for awhile before I lose it, seems like a good chance to do so, given the topic. I wrote it when I was sixteen or so and I don't imagine that I'll ever do anything with it.

    --

    MAYA

    Consciousness is a black hole
    sucking up sucking up impression
    at a furious rate.
    I can't wait I can't wait
for things to grab my attention.
If not for things if not for things,
    I'd be nothing,
    but they make me forget.

    Oh how we're being used.
    Oh how we're being abused.
    Ah but we're never refused.

I have a book I call my standard reference,
but every time every time it is opened,
    the contents have changed.
It's so strange it's so strange
to read the way it is written.
Still you catch me still you catch me pretending
that I know what it means.

    Oh how we're being used.
    Oh how we're being confused.
    Ah but we're never refused.

Maya, Maya, you're such a liar!
Maya, Maya, you're such a liar!
Maya, Maya, you're such a liar!
But you let me lie with you.

    --

Looks like a great forum here. I hope to take from it and contribute as I grow stronger in Thelema.

    Best.

    -- Greg.

The Master, and even the Magus continue, but the Buddha has stopped.

I'm not sure anything ever stops, least of all a Buddha.

Stability is change, which Buddha understood better than anyone.

I'm not sure what an Ipsissimus is supposed to be -- how many have claimed that title, anyway? But, if anyone has claimed the title, just compare their lives' work to the Buddhas' and see who's "higher" on the scale.

Here's what Bill Heidrick has to say:

    @Bill Heidrick said

    "
-- What is the nature of the grade of Ipsissimus ...

This is an A A matter, and I can only say what I think.

The grade of Ipsissimus is not a personal state of being. It is like the thought of Buddha in the minds of Buddhists. Buddha has gone on to nirvana. The memory of Buddha as a Bodhisattva is what one may see of the Ipsissimus. The Ipsissimus (there is only one) "sees" the Tao into being. The Ipsissimus does not perceive anything, in the mundane manner.
The grade of Ipsissimus may be lied about. It cannot be attained or conferred. One dissolves into it.
If someone says that they are Ipsissimus, they lie. It is a state of being which cannot say anything of itself, even that it exists. One may be the Ipsissimus Grade. One cannot be that and say that. When one is not the Ipsissimus, one may speak truthfully of being the Ipsissimus; but such a statement will always be misunderstood by those who hear it. That the statement of being Ipsissimus Grade can only be misunderstood is the only sense in which the statement can be made truthfully.

Parallels between O.T.O. or A A and Buddhist, Taoist, or other organizations are whatever you want to see in the comparison. Striking parallels is only making conversation or trying to get over some moment of uncertainty. Outside a particular context such parallels are meaningless. There can be no comparison without preconception. A human might compare printed lists on two pieces of paper point-by-point because of a preconception about writing. An ape might think that the same two pieces of paper are funny leaves covered with ants you can't eat. A cat might reserve judgment until a human wads up the two pieces of paper into balls."

    I like that a lot.

    Hi All,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Well, it's a real neat word to pronounce anyway!

G'matria and 777 (plus supplement) gives us 396:

Day Demon of 1st Dec. : Yod Peh Vav Shin

    supp:

    QMRVN An arch or vault
    TzMRIVN Heliotrope

    Dictionary dot com on Heliotrope:

    1. Any of several plants of the genus Heliotropium, especially H. arborescens, native to Peru and having small, highly fragrant purplish flowers. Also called turnsole.
    2. The garden heliotrope.
    3. Any of various plants that turn toward the sun.

(also) bloodstone: green chalcedony with red spots that resemble blood
(and) A moderate, light, or brilliant violet to moderate or deep reddish purple

Hmmm, an arch or vault and any of various plants that turn toward the sun...

But anyway, I hardly care. I just can't sleep.

Tea and sex usually help, but alas...

Love is the law, love under will.

    Regards,

    Fr. Z. T.

The Latin word Ipsissimus enumerates to 139 by the Latin Qabalah Simplex. Latin words and phrases with this value include:

ADEPTUS MINOR - Lesser Adept; title of 5=6 Grade, attributed to Tiphareth
CENTRUM MUNDI - Center of the world
CUSTOS ROSÆ - Guardian of the Rose
IPSISSIMUS - "He who is most himself;" title of 10=1 Grade, attributed to Kether
SEDES SAPIENTIÆ - Seat (or, throne) of wisdom
SERVIRE VITÆ - To serve life
    STAT VERITAS - Truth endures

All of that sounds Buddha-ish to me, except the grade of 5=6, but I don't understand those grades, anyway.

Do you agree/disagree with that Heidrick quote I posted above (2 or 3 posts up)?

    Yes. Precisely.
