    Hello all

I am looking for some literature that is practically oriented and straight to the point without any dogmatic 'in depth' theories. The basic is pretty simple 'do what you will' but 'find your true will' so I expect no complexities into anything that builds on this.

10 years ago (before i went christian, then muslim, then into my own belief system based on years of experience and research) I read about aleister crowley and the abramelin the mage books.. and somehow I've always had the respect for them.. I guess now i've came right to the beginning and maybe I should get to read them.

It was only the last couple of weeks I realized the number 93 had been following me for the last 9 years (my first cell phone number ended with 93 , the second one as well but didn't realize it at the time.. and now that i got my third one i realized it ends with 93 as well). Knowing from experience numbers play a big role in my life i looked it up on the internet which brought me to the Thelema system. I was quite surprised to see that there is actually a label for the life philosophy i've been living for the last few years (which is that everyone should do what they feel is right for them).. which to my knowledge is the only one that makes sense.. after having explored so many philosophies out there

Any thoughts on why this number has been following me and why I had realized it only after such a long time?

All of Duquettes books are a good start. Not that hard to understand and he's a funny guy. A good start into thelema.

Liber E and Liber O precisely fit your description of what you're looking for. More broadly, get Gems From the Equinox.

    93,

Numbers 'following you around' is a good example of Jungian synchronicity. There is an underlying connection that you are not consciously aware of (yet unconsciously to a degree) so this number keeps 'popping up.' It is essentially your unconscious saying 'Hey, this is significant' to your conscious.

As for practical writings on Thelema... Im a fan of Crowley's essays from around ~1925 including:

    • On the Education of Children (1921)

    • The Method of Thelema (1925)

    • On Thelema (1926-1927)

I also like the essay, Duty by Crowley.

You can read various essays by myself at iao131.livejournal.com and iao131.cjb.ne ; things like 'Active Thelema' were meant to be practical. If you are looking for practical techniques for increasing the breadth and control of your consciousness, I would go with Liber E first as Jim mentioned and then Liber O after at least acquiring some familiarity in Asana & Dharana. You need to persist, but above all, follow your own unique will in guiding your path.
