Do you still have any involvement with the Fraternitas L.V.X. Occulta, and/or are you in a position to comment on the nature and quality of the work being done by their UK branch?

I haven't been involved directly with F.L.O. for a number of years, although I believe Paul still regards me as a member.
I can speak regarding F.L.O.'s standard of work in general, and the quality of its content etc. (all of which is high).

However, I don't have any direct knowledge of the UK lodges per se, or of their leadership. The international growth came after I was no longer in an active Grand Lodge position. - So, if you're asking about the system, I would have a positively-leaning report, but if you're asking about the people, then I actually don't have any information.

I am a member of FLO (currently at-large) and I once served in an office in that Order where I corresponded regularly with a few of the leaders in the UK (it has been a couple of years). While I have never been present in their Lodge I am familiar with the work of the individuals in question and in my estimation it is high quality work. I have a deep respect for those people and the work they have done there.

I would highly recommend the Order as whole to anyone who is interested in that work. While it is not a Thelemic Order, I have found the teachings, in general, to provide a sound foundation for magical studies.

Is there a 'mail-order' program similar to the BOTA curriculum? Is it possible to compare/contrast the two? I've pretty much given up on finding anything locally - which is sad considering I live in Washington DC...

    Thanks -

I was wondering the same thing... such as, what distingusihes BOTA from FLO... they seem to have similar concepts described on their websites.

Are you asking about their correspondence courses, or their initiated work?

There's more ritual in FLO. Lessons are not as extensive in my opinion. Lessons are by Paul Foster Case in BOTA, and are unique.
Of course, I would say that.
