Our need as humans in this Aeon is NOT for endlessly more information. It's for Silence..
U know its really funny sometimes I never know under which "category" to make posts sometimes I guess this may be partly because I'm very critical about the act of categorization itself, as many things do tend to overlap in my opinion and (contrarian that I am) actually look forward to the day whereby all knowledge shall be consolidated.I would say this post falls both under "initiation" & "ThElemA".this issue of silence has been one of great consideration for me ;ironically this is one area in which most ancient systems of initiation actually agree and they're all in favor, both of stillness as a prerequisite,and for silence itself; which may, I suppose, be alternatively defined as "stillness of the mind".Sir Isaac Newton equated a body at rest with one in continuous motion,and you'd have to admit he has a point! My question; might not this metaphor be applied to "a mind at rest" and a "mind in continuous motion"? and if not, why not? a practical example of this question from one perspective might be, can one meditate while driving ? riding a bicycle? or performing any other rhythmic real or simulated automated body movement? the virtual world might be able to provide infinite variations of uniform motion only limited by the creativity of the concept creator(s).
In an infinitely accelerating world "Time" is something we never have enough of! It would be extremely convenient not to have to set specific times for meditation. Moreover Edward your statement is "Period Specific" as regards to "This Aeon" seemingly to suggest to a certain extent that the "Silence" is a means and not an end in itself, especially in the "Next Aeon". I am most curious as to your opinion, and would be flattered for you to conjecture about the Next Step/ Next Aeon. furthermore I think a non-colloquial clear definition of the word "human"is needed, so there is no misunderstanding and I shall know whether 2 declare myself a Mutant or not!love is the law, love under will.

Silence is not just inactivity on an auditory level, it's a complete cessation of ***mental ***activity. Sometimes It enters into us (in my experience) and sometimes we enter into It. Asking a set of pre-thought-out questions about it doesn't actually have any relevance to it. It's not an issue for intellectual inquiry. Going by your other posts, you think a lot. So do I. But from a magical/mystical perspective, thinking is mostly just mental froth.

I don't give a hoot about the Next Aeon, and I just don't think about it. This Aeon has a lot of lifetimes to run yet.
Again, it sounds like you're trying to think your way through to an answer. What will that get you ... ? More thoughts.
Thought is useful on the plane of Assiah, so we can decide (as I just did) which shirt to wear, what needs buying today, and so on. And it's useful for ***planning ***a ritual . For actually ***doing ***a ritual, it's a hindrance. For reviewing it afterwards in the magical diary, sure, thought comes back into play. But it won't - can't - get us to Silence.
"I shall know whether 2 declare myself a Mutant or not! "
In other words, so you can think about another thought - in this case, a label that is just as provisional as any other you have attached, or will attach, to yourself. Labels can be fun: "I am a magician! I'm a social misfit! I'm a renegade! I'm a complex thinker!" But once we move to any sort of mystical perspective, labels are the first thing that dissolve.

I heard a man say once that meditation is listening to God, and prayer is speaking to God. I like the simplicity of that.
Can I listen and be active at the same time? Can I filter through all the background noise and give my attention to something?
I have heard tell that women are the masters of mulittasking, doing this and that simulatiously. How well we are able to do these things depends on each womens capabilites. But in looking into the female brain, we are wired differently. I dont know how a man thinks, but I know that for me I am able to do routine tasks such as mopping the floor, digging out roots/weeds, chopping and allow still ness to come over me and allow me to hear the silence with a clarity that I may not be able to achive if I am doing a new task or a task that requires my complete attention.
"furthermore I think a non-colloquial clear definition of the word "human"is needed, so there is no misunderstanding and I shall know whether 2 declare myself a Mutant or not! "
I have listened to a lot of talk about this, and have thought long and hard about what this idea implies.....
I can hear all the reteric stating we are Stars and stardust, and starseed, and evolved creatures and created creatures, and abandonded creatures and beings of light and beings of dark, and so many other ideas......
but I think they are irrelevent and an attempt to shirk responsibility. We are here now, and while where we came from does indicate where we may go (Fibronci sequence, taking the last and adding where we are now=where we will be next...). We are made of food. and food is made of light (which is sound) and dark (which is silence), so if we are to declare anything IMO it should be that we are, and we should just rejoice in that fact....
I dont really understand if what you are speaking of Virtual reality is more along the lines of holographs? I have just started to concider the theories of holographs and still have a long ways to go, but from my understanding the principles seem to imply endless possibilities unfolding.

oh dear dear dear, is that why I am such a bubbly little lady??
<pouts>
froth=headlike a beer head?
I like being all bubbly, I like froth....
getting mind out of the gutter
yikes....
sorry I just had to get that off my chest...

Veronica 93,
I nearly used the beer analogy, but we are enjoined to drink sweet wines and wines that foam, not beer. And you don't get a lot of froth on top of foaming wine.

he he...
I dont drink beer.... blech
I used to work in a dance club,
and I quickly learned that men give very big tips if you give them a little head.....
Most dont like all the bubbles on top....
So you have to pour the beer ~very~ slowly......ah, yea I could make more money with my clothes on then the poor strippers....

I could argue and go into more conjecture about the actual nature of this "Silence" and further as a student of "Chaos" contest the periodicity of the universe; However in this instance, I will for once concede that maybe I don't have enough direct experience with the phenomena to which you allude. Something within this position of "Silence" intuitively is compelling, and I can admit to a bad habit of procrastination in certain areas at times, in the form of diversions and escapism; so I really should test this diagnosis and witness the results in myself.
Thank you both.
