13 July (Fire) Liber LXV, 4:5-6

5. I will make me a little boat of my tongue, and explore the unknown rivers. It may be that the everlasting salt may turn to sweetness, and that my life may be no longer athirst.
6. O ye that drink of the brine of your desire, ye are nigh to madness! Your torture increaseth as ye drink, yet still ye drink. Come up through the creeks to the fresh water; I shall be waiting for you with my kisses. -

When I read this, well, it is a pretty accurate description. Especially this bit: O ye that drink of the brine of your desire, ye are nigh to madness! Your torture increaseth as ye drink, yet still ye drink.
I also feel the need to reiterate something from a recant post. It is this idea that my pleasure is seeing your pleasure—I want to make and watch you come! t is a sentiment I understand from my personal perspective, but I understand from comments from others that this is the angel speaking to the adept (master, or possibly student?).
Also, I read references to the Pentecost and the tongues of flame, casting the speaker in the role of the Christian Holy Spirit, which is often characterized as feminine and symbolized by the dove, the bird of Venus/Netzach.
It is a Jungian truism that the soul is, by it's nature, moist; also that certain psychic processes are described as corrective to this condition, drying out the soul as it were. Last night I dreamed of being in a high place dominated by water, especially a fishing river, and as I was showing the river to another in the dream and describing the great fishing to be had, a brilliant lightning flash seared the air, striking the far bank, and I woke thinking about the The House of God tarot card as belonging to one of the paths making the approach into Netzach.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein (had to look that up..lol)
The way I’m reading it madness in the verses is akin to insanity in the other quote. I would say countless times in my life I’ve done the same thing over and over again and indirectly expected different results as well as I imagine humanity has done throughout history. How long will that last? Herein is a bidding to quit the night, as they say, and step into the light and fresh water. I imagine that the salt and its change to sweetness is the changing of the perspective of the Adept at the closer and more intimate “Knowledge” of the Angel. As the sources of “madness” are shed all that remains is the aspiration towards the Angel and an inflaming of passion.

Today's selection is really wonderful. It's still doing a number on me.
I just wanted to add something to thread. It's this idea of working on our desire.
That there is a work that can and should be done on it, purifying it of the salt.
That's all ...for now.

I think he's coming from snapshot impressions of: my tongue, salt (that turns into something sweet), "brine of your desire" meraning something like salt while horny, going a little mad at getting lost in it, "why the fuck am I still doing this --> why the fuck WOULDN'T I be doing this," and ending with "come up here baby and kiss me."
Or something like that.
Not what it meant to me, but close enough that I'm almost ashamed it isn't what it meant to me.

"Ok - splain this one to a female pls?
It's great that you guys are getting the great sea and the cunning linguist from this - but once again I'm just seeing this image of a fence of wooden planks with me lighting torches at the bottom while you guys just goof on watching.)
Sorry - but my subconscious gives up what it gives up! lol."
I had to think about this for, ummm, thitry seconds.
LXV is an inspired text so it isn't going to make sense, what I'm about to try and say without getting into too much hot water.
But Crowley, being Crowley, he seems to hit all the bases, if not all in the same moment, he will invoke some aspect of all the possible human sexual relations at some point. It's just the lesbian thing now.
When he is on about the man on man action, well, there is a big part of that I don't get because that has never done much for me. If I were a woman I might have had a different set of experiences, like maybe strapping one on for my boyfriend—I might actually be in a better position to appreciate the homosexual references if that had been the case.
It so happens I can relate to the girl on girl action because I can do most of what a woman can do to another woman, except maybe, play the woman—but on second thought...
But no worries, I'm sure that in no time at all he will either be back to the heterosexual option, or referencing the butt-buddies option, which I recall was a real turn of for at least one of my old girlfriends. I remember her saying to me: if you ever think you want to experiment, I want to watch.

I didn't catch the sexual reference in this one neither. I'm trying to figure out:
-
Is this the same boat the Angel was talking about in Chapter 1?
-
Is this the tongue Nuit mentioned in CCXX 1:6?'
"6. O ye that drink of the brine of your desire, ye are nigh to madness! Your torture increaseth as ye drink, yet still ye drink. Come up through the creeks to the fresh water; I shall be waiting for you with my kisses."
I'm kinda at a loss for this one. I looked up brine this morning and thought: 'Salt water? Binah?'
The image I get from this verse is someone chugging salt water, trying to quench their thirst but the salt water keeps making them thirstier and thirstier while the Angel sits and watches like "Wtf are you doing dude?"
Fresh water = Smooth Point?
