27. Radiant God! Let me fashion an image of gems and gold for Thee! that the people may cast it down and trample it to dust! That Thy glory may be seen of them.
I had a very strange night. I was aware of dreaming that seemed to extend over the entire night. And yet, I had only one short dream. 'Dreaming' is not the right word; it was actually a kind of heavy thinking that I have had in the past but that is out of my control, that is not exactly a lucid dream, but a kind of musing which is nonetheless a reception of images and impressions.
In this 'dream' I descend to where Babylon is waiting and I give her a robe of concealment, which she wears. This statement comes with the dream: "the reason for this is simplicity." And then there is silence, which is also an important point in the dream.
My waking self was immediately challenged and uncomfortable with the idea that I would have to 'descend' to where Babylon was. It seemed disrespectful! I mean, what is she doing down there?
This seems to echo the sentiment in the passage, that all true mystery suffers the worst violations as it is translated into understandings that can be accessed below the abyss.
A 'word' is little more than a pointer. A person who believes that the world will literally end today, or some future day, is only accessing the first, most outer veil of a truth. Later this will be understood as a mystical experience wherein the universe is actually destroyed, in truth. The shallow, literal interpretation will have fallen away as the full magnitude of this destruction becomes apparent.

Analysis:
"Radiant God! Let me fashion an image of gems and gold for Thee!"
Request to make an object of worship and share it's story.
"that the people may cast it down and trample it to dust!"
Some people will accept the object and devote themselves to the object in love.Destroying themselves and the object in a sense to become one. Others will reject it and cry against it.
"That Thy glory may be seen of them."
All parties involved will unveil both their individual point of view and the group view, revealing and expressing the manifold nature of the One thing that is Not.
Reflection:
All prophets are true and all words sacred, save only they know a little -
...that the people may cast it down and trample it to dust! That Thy glory may be seen of them.
I think the same people who trample the 'image' into the dust are the same people who see the glory of God. The text is a little vague on whether they see it by trampling, or they see it despite the fact that they trample. But I don't read any indication that a difference is made by those who see and those who don't.
The whole statement is a variation of the parable of the image of Asi in the boat. "Trample it to dust" is equivalent to the idea of making something corrupt by ones kisses...
For me it comes back around to this idea that the outer form is always a dead thing; while on the other hand, the outer form is still a path to union with the reality it represents.
Babylon—the woman clothed with the sun—hidden within another robe of Saturn.

My first impression is to ask why would you make an image so that people can disrespect it? It seems sacriligious. I then realize that this text, in one respect, is like the image spoken of! Some will look beyond the words and reach as far as they are capable to see the "Radiant God" who influenced it and others will will "Cast it down and trample it to dust". I am glad the image is made that I may be led to realize it is an image and look beyond.
All things derived from the One Source "who is Not" are images therof. All are different aspects of this and thus today I will try to look beyond that; in seeing the image I will do my best to meditate on the source.
@Wake World said
"There are two sisters; and one is very pure and good, and the other is a horrid fast woman. But that just shows you how silly dream language is—really there is another way to put it: you can say they are two sisters, and one is very silly and ignorant, and the other has learnt to know and enjoy. "
That quote from "Wake World" shows me to look at the different angles and not be bogged down by my tendancies. My first impression being sacriligious I then turned the angle in my mind to see it as an expression of the greatest devotion to the Radiant God. However, both of these being true they are also equally untrue and I'm back to the beginning with the swan still silent and the prankster laughing at me.

BOOM!
The people can see the shining truth beyond the image by trampling it into dust...
But you need to start with an image so there is something that can be destroyed, an illusion that can be transcended...Love and Will

" 27. Radiant God! "
The start of a prayer." Let me fashion an image of gems and gold for Thee! "
What is this image I ask? Is it the image that I want to portray.... Yes Possibly...
Let me fashion my body as gems and gold for thee. Let me do what people consider righteous and glorious and cast an image of myself that says ‘I am the best that can portray an image for thee.’
" that the people may cast it down and trample it to dust! "
That the people may cast me down and trample me or the false ideas to dust and realize that there is no image that man can attain for thee.
" That Thy glory may be seen of them. "
By understanding that they need not do anything to appear to be glorious thy glory will be seen in them.
