In the background is the great sea. Yesterday were images of sand and beaches, and even the ocean itself. This island, this little stay of infinity and engulfing wave is for what? To write these words, to allow the palm of brilliance to take root and bear fruit?
Then these lines are like dates.

A little island in the Abyss of the Ocean? The imagery makes me think of the movie "Cast Away", but this is purposeful rather than a complete tragedy and accident. The brilliance of the Light having taken seed and matured nourishes the being surrounded by the waters and brings joy.
The commentaries on this chapter are pretty extensive and I've been avoiding them for the most part. It seems I am pretty off base with what is written there and what I've been thinking about the indivdual verses. I think that is part of the process here though according to the person reading and their understanding of the symbollism.

Yesterday we learned that the Adept/Master is ultimately no more (having crossed the Abyss), but there is still a perfect ring of white (i.e. purified) sand - all of the elements of the sub-Abyssal being, ultimately not connected to each other, but still arranged in a coherent fashion. This allows these "palms of brilliance" to flower within the human for the sake of enjoyment.

Though, I know that I will probably not do it this way again, at least next time will be different. I have already promised myself I will read through the commentaries and take a more active interest in the opinions of others.
After that I will see what other approach I can make that will help me deepen the process.
FYI, there is a stray post for Kidney Stones in this forum. I'm assuming it's spam. Just mentioning it so someone with permissions can delete if they feel it should be deleted—how Virgo of me.
