    43. Adonai, divine Adonai, let Adonai initiate refulgent dalliance! Thus I concealed the name of Her name that inspireth my rapture, the scent of whose body bewildereth the soul, the light of whose soul abaseth this body unto the beasts.
    44. I have sucked out the blood with my lips; I have drained Her beauty of its sustenance; I have abased Her before me, I have mastered Her, I have possessed Her, and Her life is within me. In Her blood I inscribe the secret riddles of the Sphinx of the Gods, that none shall understand, — save only the pure and voluptuous, the chaste and obscene, the androgyne and the gynander that have passed beyond the bars of the prison that the old Slime of Khem set up in the Gates of Amennti.

    Gush

    Vampirism

Simple rule of thumb: the more transgressive and taboo an image the greater ability it has to suggest the most transcendent notions.

A dancer, someone who whirls and races about the stage, must cultivate a completely still center in order to give the impression, despite all this movement, that nothing moves. The actor who stands quietly on stage, quietly speaking a twenty minute monologue must cultivate a center of violence always on the verge of immanent, catastrophic collapse in order to give the impression, for all the relative non-action of the moment, that worlds are exploding and crashing into oblivion as they speak.

Here, at the limit of language, the extremes come together even as they are the furthest apart!

True image? Probably not but I like the stanza, it gets my juices flowing on such a cold morning.....

When I saw the ads on the highway for walgreens I wanted my parents to stop........the parking lot was full of everyone who wanted to be a part of the last fifty miles of signage....

"passed beyond the bars of the prison that the old Slime of Khem set up in the Gates of Amennti."

Could someone please illuminate the allusion to Amennti? What is it?

Hell. The underworld. Literally "the hidden place" (which is also the literal meaning of "hell").

My words: This thing that he does, no one may understand it except for those whose dual natures have already allowed them to pass beyond the prison-trap set up in the Underworld.

My perspective: That within him that would normally [self-]condemn him and trap him within horrible, punishing subroutines within his own consciousness finds no hold on him, for he has transcended these opposites. His intent, his actions, and his rapture are all purified.
