6 October (Sol) Liber VII, 4:35-43
-
35. Thou wast like a winged white horse, and I raced Thee through eternity against the Lord of the Gods.
36. So still we race!
37. Thou wast like a flake of snow falling in the pine-clad woods.
38. In a moment Thou wast lost in a wilderness of the like and the unlike.
39. But I beheld the beautiful God at the back of the blizzard — and Thou wast He!
40. Also I read in a great Book.
41. On ancient skin was written in letters of gold: Verbum fit Verbum.
42. Also Vitriol and the hierophant's name V.V.V.V.V.
43. All this wheeled in fire, in star-fire, rare and far and utterly lonely — even as Thou and I, O desolate soul my God! -
Reading this I get the feeling of an escaping wonder. A “..flake of snow falling in the pine-clad woods.” It is a constant journeying and courting of the spirit. Every turn and in every event is Thou.
A book is written, established, and a record of its contents which are hidden. This is sealed by three phrases all signified by the letter V. I don’t know exactly how to explain the significance there, but I find it interesting that Atu V of the Thoth deck is the Hierophant corresponding to Vau. In verse 43, I am reminded of the imagery of the wheel and its center like in the 20th Aethyr. In the center one is not involved with the pendulum swings of the outermost and the stillness therein is lonely and desolate...though I have no idea how so!

V = 6 = the sides of a snowflake. It's a blizzard of Vs.
