Question on substitute Adoration
-
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Because of my job, I find it difficult or actually impossible at times to perform the adorations. I work a 24 hour shift as a medic, and never know where or what ill be doing at the appointed times. I could be stuck for example waiting with a patient in a busy ER. My question is, is there a way to substitute an adoration with a simple gesture? Or can one simply close their eyes and mentally recite them?
Also, regarding this same problem, can one effectively perform an LBRP in a bathroom whispering the words? Ive resorted to this technique at work before, but is it pointless?
Love is the law, love under will.

I've performed Resh mentally many times when I had no other realistic option. I think it's better than not performing it at all. I've found that it's better, at least for me, to try to do it on time (even under bad conditions) than to wait until later when conditions are better, and thus miss the "window" of time by a large margin.
Doing your best is a practice in and of itself; it's never going to be perfect.
I've tried doing the LBRP mentally, and I feel like I don't know enough about it to really give you safe advice on that matter. I will say that I've felt effects from doing it that way, though.

I'm assuming you mean Liber Resh. No. You cannot substitute Liber Resh with a simple gesture. All rituals are to be performed as written. Otherwise, you're performing another ritual. It may be effective, but it is not Liber Resh.

Yes, in a manner of speaking. But the effectiveness of this technique is relative to the level of training of the "performer".

This really depends on what you mean by "effectively". Again, this is a "relative to the level of training" issue.
IMHO, all rituals are effective to some extent. The level of concentration is paramount to what you are calling "effective". This has to do with training and repetition. The Book of Lies Chap. 32 does a great job explaining the importance of repetition...
In my experience, there is really no substitute for working the ritual on the "material plane" in the beginning. You are establishing habits and fortifying the Body of Light for later work. It is a cumulative process.
Or, look at it from a strict "behavioral" POV - anchoring your physical body to the associated mental processes is extremely important. You don't become a great basketball player by merely watching the Lakers.

IMO, "pointless" is relative to your ability to suspend disbelief.

Hello! Thank you for your help and clarification. I realize of course that Liber Resh is best done as written, but what I was trying to ask is that in a pinch is there "something" one can do in its stead? Some situations would simply not work for me, and this isn't just because of being shy popping up in public belting out Resh lol, but rather being for example standing in a hospital ER. Needless to say that would turn some heads and possibly get me in trouble. I am trying to stick to my guns in doing Resh, and if in a situation where I'm stuck unable to perform it normally, I thought maybe I could replace it with something of equal value.
In regards to the LBRP, and its "effectiveness", I was wondering if specifically, not being able to vibrate the God-names etc would strip the ritual of its power. We can ask this same question if we were sick and lost our voice. In these cases should we skip it? Or simply perform it to the best of our ability regardless? I do however get your comment on the level of the student, but lets say for those that are not so advanced.

You can do all these things with the subtle body. This brings up the point brought up earlier about where you are in your development as to the "effectiveness" of doing this, Plainly spoken, if you haven't enforced your subtle body, it will be less "effective" (whatever that means, to remind you another point that was brought up). In your case, the main thing would be that you do it (whatever it is you do) and regularly. In the example you gave, I recommend you practice using your subtle body to your best ability, closing your eyes and mentally visually etc reciting the ritual. To outside observers, you are just closing your eyes for a few moments of pause.
