Liber ABA and The Book of Thoth are certainly must have books...
They can be a little too much for the beginner to handle, so do not feel too flabbergasted if you are unable to make much sense of them at the start.
Essentially, they are great reference tools until you have a handle on things. -
The Universe is a Green Dragon by Brian Swimme is something I would recommend to anyone new to the Book of the Law.
I say this as I once had a friend, whom I loaned both that and the Book of the Law too.
When she returned them, she spoke highly of both and referenced how she found the message of the two books to be similar but that Mr Swimmes' work was more accessible.I do not mean to infer in anyway that one is a replacement for the other.
