The name of the HGA, what if you have it wrong?
-
A prayer, performed by a certain sect of Christian monks came to my attention a few months ago.
My immediate reaction was to think "Well this is how I am going to contact my HGA"
The only missing piece would be the exact name of my HGA
I have an idea, a possibility - would it be a bad idea to practice the prayer with this name?
Recently, I have thought of doing it as is (control experiment) and even without a name (to perhaps receive it)The prayer is as follows:
"Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on my soul"
The aspirant then bows, and while doing so visualizes himself entering the stomach through the navel and then traveling up to the heart. The visualization immediately made me think of the path of Sameck , going from Yesod to Tiphreth.
My desire is to change the verbal portion to roughly this:
[HGA], Sun of God, grant mercy unto my Soul
While keeping the visualization the same.
Without a name, just "Sun of God, grant mercy unto my Soul"Thoughts?

I wouldnt see it as having it wrong.. it is still filtered through your personality, your time, and culture and the treasure chest of words and images stored in your mind.. it's that storage of words and images that needs constant feeding and expansion if you are to continue to grow as a magician and human being.
It teaches new words, new images, new thought patterns, new ideas, possibilities and realities.
I feel the sacred magician focuses as a lens or conduit, reflecting or refracting power through himself to something beyond, that importance should be attributed the forces that work for and around him, not just an inflexible storage cell.So yeah, i wouldnt see it as a bad idea.
