Different things float through the mind as these verses, along with others, prove to be revelatory. What comes to mind today is "potentiality". There is a truth that every man and woman is a star and that every number (everything?) is infinite. It is a practice to observe this "knowing" that this is expressed in every life, everything, that I interact with and that the nature of everything is divinity. It is a practice in the sense that it doesn't necessarily come naturally, especially in adults, and requires us to move past preconceived ideas we have likely built up. It is a practice certainly while driving on the freeway in heavy L.A. traffic.
We all have the potentiality of this consciousness and it exceeds our regular waking selves to such an extent that its realization makes, even in flashes, makes every thing prior to it seem as if we had been sleeping. This potentiality is what connects us to the infinite, makes us channels for its expression, and links us all together as enormous beings expanding across the universe forging our way through each of our orbits. This potentiality is realized - we just have to remember or rather I have to remember.

I feel it's at this point that the Book makes it authority clear. "Every man and every woman is a star." It strikes at the root of many wrong perspectives. It restores the true dignity and value of man (and woman). It's quite interesting how throughout the Book man (and men) is used quite a lot by itself, but here, at the start, declaring such a profound and much needed truth, the Author made a point of mentioning woman specifically. As in, just to be perfectly clear.
The impression I get from v. 4 is "screw the bounds of reason (there's something beyond)," and I love it.
