Outcast Cast out
-
I was thinking there is a connection between "the outcast" in Al and the concept of "casting out" demons or expulsion/redemption of unbalanced energies. .
In the old aeon the magus was an Excorcist. Mark 1:34'
*
And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was*.Mark 1:39
*
And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons*.
...............so on.In the new aeon Hadit makes a declaration related to the above, in 2: 7. I am the Magician and the Exorcist.
Interestingly enough (for me anyway) Hadit states at 2: 21. We have nothing with the outcast and the unfit: let them die in their misery. For they feel not You are unfit for success and "cast out" when you cast yourself away from the Work and into the unbalanced aspects of yourself, which in turn, needs to be expelled/redeemed ....if you don't want to be one of "the outcast" that is.

the castout seems to refer to humans who are in a bad place mentally or spiritually, for example, but they grovel and wallow in their misery rather than attempt to get out of it through effort but expect a handout and like their victimhood so to speak. But a thelemite would not want to perpetuate their miseryhood but perhaps attempt to bring out the highest in that unfortunate individual by treating him as an equal. Not: I'm so great and he is so poor that i have to give him a handout. He'll probably take it but it doesn't solve the source of his misery which is lack of self-worth, laziness, etc. So in a way the castouts are under some sort of demonic possession which you would not want to feed and give more energy to, but rather exorcize by the above mentioned method of trying to evoke their internal potential as a star, which all humans are, but it needs to be awakened and put into practice and not merely be some philosophical abstract idea.
Do what thou wilt.

But wouldn't helping the outcast by treating him as an equal count as "having something" with the outcast? And would an outcast even be willing to use their potential as a star, instead of ruminating and feeling like a victim?

i think it"s having something if you fall into the trap of feeling superior and playing into his mindset not if you maintain your values and include him in the way you determine... maybe he doesn't react instantly but you"ve planted a seed of doubt to his current stagnation. If he never reacts, period, then you did not approach it correctly and can learn from the experience for future encounters.
Do what thou wilt.

We are programmed to think that "jocks" and "heathers" are the "in crowd" and if you're not in their gangs and cliques then you are an outcast. Americans love the terms "loser" and "weirdo". Now that can sometimes have validity (e.g. you get bullied for having body odour) but ultimately, if you as spirit are *cast out *into Assiah and you fail to recognize that then you have a problem.
