Tarot Meditation – Death
The sound of the scythe repeated in a rhythmic way creating a musical composition of death and rebirth. Death is the bringer of a new life. Death announces a clean slate. One must learn to sing along with this composition of life and death in all of its aspects. For there are many deaths and new beginnings throughout a single lifetime, and there are larger deaths that mark the end, and a beginning of new form of life.
I see a siren sitting on the rock and singing the song to the sailors announcing their ruin or perhaps a new becoming. Her scales are shiny under the Sun like precious jewels. And her skin is soft and smooth like the finest silk of old China. And her voice is pearlescent melody that pervades space, casts winds aside, breaks the silence of the night, bringing tremor of bliss. She is the Death-maiden adorned in luxury and beauty. She draws men by the virtue of their weakness and in a way it is that weakness which destroys them, but the grace of divine immortality brings them a new dawn forever more.
The ocean is now calm and silent. The Sun is not scorching, but it caresses warmly. Under the water there goes on a dance of the sirens forming all sorts of sacred geometries with their tails [and their tales], designing a new storm for the next ship that comes along, weaving new destinies. When the string is plucked all the other strings in its proximity vibrate in this web of interconnected relations. And so human destinies vibrate together. And it is the sound of karma, it is the sound of divine breath, the sound of creative potential, the song of Time and Space through eternity.
