September 25 (Jupiter) Liber VII, Cap. III, v. 1-7
-
**1. I was the priest of Ammon-Ra in the temple of Ammon-Ra at Thebai.
2. But Bacchus came singing with his troops of vine-clad girls, of girls in dark mantles; and Bacchus in the midst like a fawn!
3. God! how I ran out in my rage and scattered the chorus!
4. But in my temple stood Bacchus as the priest of Ammon-Ra.
5. Therefore I went wildly with the girls into Abyssinia; and there we abode and rejoiced.
6. Exceedingly; yea, in good sooth!
7. I will eat the ripe and the unripe fruit for the glory of Bacchus.

So the priest is all peaceful in the sanctuary being all calm and meditative and then Bacchus kicks open the door with his orgiastic entourage disturbing the priest. After the priest yells at everyone telling them to get off his lawn he looks back and recognizes Bacchus as the priest. There is no difference in the worship of the "god" in the sanctuary - silence or explosive celebration - as long as it is in single pointed adoration of It.
The "jupiterian" jovial state starts off in full effect and the verse from Liber Legis that easily comes up is in Chapter 1, verse 51 "...Be goodly therefore: dress ye all in fine apparel; eat rich foods and drink sweet wines and wines that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love as ye will, when, where and with whom ye will! But always unto me." There is a marriage of quiet, silent, meditative worship as well as the ecstatic and explosively joyous. A further lesson of enflaming oneself in prayer.
