July 11 (Fire) Liber LXV, Cap. IV, v. 1-2
-
1. O crystal heart! I the Serpent clasp Thee; I drive home mine head into the central core of Thee, O God my beloved.
2. Even as on the resounding wind-swept heights of Mitylene some god-like woman casts aside the lyre, and with her locks aflame as an aureole, plunges into the wet heart of the creation, so I, O Lord my God! -
Beginning here the point of view is from the serpent. The serpent embraces all the paths of the Tree of Life and indeed and surely does surround and clasp the heart of the tree in Tiphereth. Perhaps though, the serpent is driving its head into the Sun behind the Sun. The crystal heart may be a reference to Kether. There is violence here, clashing, vitalizing union, and an excitement of energy that comes alive for me in these verses. It is a bit strange that the verses begin from the Serpent's point of view. It throws me off a bit initially. The intensity of love is kicking off very strongly in these first couple of verses.
