August 13 (Spirit) Liber LXV, Cap. V, v. 5-6
-
**5. Now is the Pillar established in the Void; now is Asi fulfilled of Asar; now is Hoor let down into the Animal Soul of Things like a fiery star that falleth upon the darkness of the earth.
6. Through the midnight thou art dropt, O my child, my conqueror, my sword-girt captain, O Hoor! and they shall find thee as a black gnarl'd glittering stone, and they shall worship thee.

Yes, definitely a sense of the Aspirant being filled with the higher, i.e. the lance piercing the cup, which brings to mind Initiation in a general sense as well. The pillar being established in the Void brings to mind the significance that a certain link has been made or something like a flame set in place to provide guidance through the void by having been there previously and having made some type of significant step. A "guiding light" maybe?
Through the pathways of consciousness spirit drops down like a flame. Tongue of Flames on the forehead is traditionally what I've known to signify the presence of the "holy spirit". Hoor is "let" down, as if momentum and trajectory always propelled him to his bride, but something had not allowed his passage. The Vav and Heh Final - which leads back a bit into a representation of the K&C of the HGA.
The apparent darkness of the Supernals provides the conditions for this union. The world of Briah provides a link that sets Hoor in the correct place to move into the influence of the, again, dark earth. All things in their proper place, balanced, with Hoor equipped to persevere through all battles and reign victorious. This control over the elements in the capacity of balance (not necessarily brute force) is what is displayed in the world and what "they" worship and find as black (not understood) and glittering (beautiful).
