October 19 (Luna) Liber VII, Cap. VI, v. 20-25
-
**20. Thou and I are beloved of the Emperor.
21. See! he has summoned us to the Imperial dais.
The night falls; it is a great orgy of worship and bliss.
22. The night falls like a spangled cloak from the shoulders of a prince upon a slave.
23. He rises a free man!
24. Cast thou, O prophet, the cloak upon these slaves!
25. A great night, and scarce fires therein; but freedom for the slave that its glory shall encompass.

The Emperor here could be taken as the Tarot key which would’ve corresponded to the Hebrew Heh at this point in Crowley’s mind. I lean towards thinking of it as Kether. Being summoned up we reach the Supernals where the “night falls” and there is a great orgy which I find akin to dissolution, ecstatic dissolution at that just as Nuit promises in Chapter 1 of the Book of the Law. The hint in the commentary (which I don’t have any conflict reading since it is much sparser than Liber 65 like rare sign posts) is that this night is N.O.X. which is the Supernal manifestation of Light.
The spangled cloak is interesting – perhaps it is spangled with the countless stars of the night. Perhaps it is like the coat of many colors given to Joseph by Abraham. The slave, the lower self, arises here free and liberated. The prophet is given an exciting and daunting task – that of casting the cloak upon the slaves! I think A.C. the prophet, through the works that he performed and those mysteries that were delivered through him indeed casts a cloak upon humanity. Scarce fires possibly points to the amount of people who reach liberation, i.e., those whose consciousness rises above what is termed here as a “slave”. Freedom though is promised and the cloak has been cast and it is up to us to arise.
