**39. The word of the Law is Thelema.
40. Who calls us Thelemites will do no wrong, if he look but close into the word. For there are therein Three Grades, the Hermit, and the Lover, and the man of Earth. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

"39. The word of the Law is Thelema."
"The word", the current of an idea, the flow of a river, the issuing forth of truth spoken from heights which was formulated in the universal mind. In this, it is Law, it is so, the way things operate. Thelema is "Will" and it is the current of "Will" that drives the Law.

In operating in accordance with this Law, being associated with it, the label of Thelemite can be applied. Though it is just a label and isn't wrong, but it's current flows regardless. The Three Grades can be translated in part to the Tree of Life in my estimations, but none of the attributions I would give satisfy me. The man of Earth is most easily ascribed to Malkuth or the world of Assiah. The Lover probably corresponds to Tiphereth and my jury is out on the Hermit.

Almost needs no explanation and is a frequent phrase employed by the aforementioned "Thelemites". "Do" - take action, stand up, and live. "What" - this is the stage I think most people get stuck on, "what do I do", the answer, in part, is to find out. "thou" - a phrase that transcends personality, Thou I take to be the higher self, the most inner self, Truth. "wilt" - a completion of the action previously defined with a clear directive. "shall be" - it is so, it will be so, it has been so. "the whole of the Law" - this is the entirety of the current governing the universe. From this is derived True Will and so many other ideas. Fun to do a little wordplay
