Pranayama - left nostril problem
-
93! I've stopped doing Pranayama recently because I feel I simply am not able to do it properly: I can't even "blow" the air out from my left nostril for like 16 seconds. With the right nostril it's not a problem, but it feels as if my left nostril just won't last that long.. any advice what to do with this problem?

Have you tried foregoing alternate nostril breathing and instead putting your focus on breathing equally through both? Crowley skipped a step in his instructions that is actually pretty important. Before one moves on to alternate nostril techniques, one is meant to regularize breathing and put focus on the nostrils with the focused intention of getting both to pass air equally. Subconsciously, your body switches back and forth between dominant nostrils on its own clock. This preliminary is intended to train consciousness in directing that power. Once both nostrils can be opened by mental focus, you can then move your focus to balancing the flow in pingala and ida up and down the spinal channels. Once that's basically done, add alternate nostril breathing back in and you should be well equipped to charge the energies flowing in either direction.

93, 93/93"What Gnosimai said is a very good point. Personally though, I tend to think that maybe Crowley didn't miss the two nostril step because we, or the body, sorts this problem out naturally during asana work? You're only supposed to do pranayama alternate nostril work when you have a fair mastery of asana ie regular prolonged asana sessions. Do you have mastery of asana?

That may be very well the case then: I have been doing now less than a year every time meditation every time before doing LBRP/LIHR and after that Liber Resh (with atleast once a day including Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram).Besides that I merely do occasionaly the Middle Pillar Ritual and Star Ruby, but I've to admit,I quite rarely do Asana nowadays after Liber Resh. I almost stopped doing it when I reached to 20 minutes asana sessions.
Lately it has seem that time is a luxury I don't have.I guess I just have to arrange my time better.. Thanks for the advice.
