03/29/17 - MEYM, The Hanged Man, Water
-
I don't want to go to Nineveh
And leave a widow behind
But there is a current stronger than me
Which pulls me along
A river of dissolution
Breaking down all my gravelly bits
Washing away all my stagnation
And I can't make heads or tails
Of it all
I don't know whether
The sea is in my blood
Or my blood is in the sea
All I know is that a seed has to die
To sprout
Something has to be sacrificed to
Let Dispersion work it's task
Of disintegration
To make a meal fit for Leviathan. Then let it be my false sense of self:
A king and a kingdom frozen in time.
Let the ice crystals melt and turn to water
Let all be washed away by the current. -
Beyond desire, beyond the corruptible, the heart universally expands--as the celebrant rises to where song is not silenced by darkness, trouble or time, to where the glimpse of eternity, as the vast light of the great sea, flashes beyond day and night--celebrating its "intolerable Essence." The stillness rends all asunder, descending to nothingness, and the precious bitterly dark sweet brilliance shines deep within.

The words flow, I feel them as waves of Delight, even physically, like expanding streams of fluid through the body.
Utter, unreserved, total surrender -this is the message of the Chapter.
Particular groups of verses deal with impediments - human desires and fears, and methods of overcoming them; invocation of Ganesh: establishing a sound Foundation is the first key step.
