A Thought about Quantum Thelema
-
Hello old friends, it's been a while! Years in fact! Anyway, I haven't thought too much about magic and Thelema for a while, mainly because I became disillusioned with it for various reasons.
Anyway, over the years I learned to code, and recently started learning Q# ( a new programming language to be used with quantum computers ), suddenly a blast from the past popped into my head - Thelema!
Turns out that in quantum computing they use what is called a Qubit, (Microsofts particular brand is called the Topological Qubit). Quantum differs from today's classical computers because they are based upon a binary system, while the new quantum arrangement is trinary, 1, 0, or both (the qubit). See the resemblance?
I couldn't remember if AC went into quantum mechanics (its hard to believe he would have missed the obvious comparison), and I wondered if anyone knew if he did? The idea of a central "superposition" of both 1 and 0 aligns with the symbolism of Ra-Hoor-Khuit ( and of course, Nuit and Hadit with the binary ).
Did AC mention this? My books are all boxed up somewhere in garageland, and I figured this would be the quickest place to find out. Just curious about it.
Thanks!
(Edited: Corrected C# to Q# language, they are similarly named and I do that often. I'm used to C#)

Your avatar is The Fool. Unattached to any previous reason. Unattached to any expectations. Unattached. Yet judging by your last two (return) posts I've read today, you are very attached to some preconceived notions. I suggest you go to garageland, leave all this Internettle poison behind, and start over from scratch - erasing (if you can) all your previous attachments and ideas about magick, C# (a not new scripting language used by computers since the beginning of this century), Crowley, Thelema, and anything related to your book collection in garageland. Start fresh!
As for Islam (referring to that other post I mentioned above), yes. Crowley did have a great appreciation for Islam, and as he explained himself; Islam, as it would be correctly understood and practiced. Your "distaste" for it is based on your preconceived notions and attachments. Remove them and see what's left.
Yes. Go back to garageland. That's my only answer for you.

...and this above is exactly why I became disillusioned. So many "enlightened" people within Thelema (and magic in general) who would rather be snarky, or mean and arrogant. BTW, I meant Q# for the Quantum programming, I simply misspoke. Grow up.
As for Islam, what in the hell would AC admire about it? The machismo? The misogyny? Maybe you can refresh my memory on the grand aspects worth praise? What preconceived notions do you think I have? The book is on par with the Bible with its level of BS and insanity. There is nothing there worth admiring. Ridiculous.

....and this above is exactly why I avoid amateurs IRL and have become disillusioned with this forum. Failure to observe yourself hypocritically commit all the atrocities you decry (smark, meanness, and the arrogance enough not to accept simple instructions for what they are). Go back to your reading list, you missed something. I suspect you missed a lot.
As for Islam, Crowley's opinion is not mine to explain to you. Again, hit the books.
BTW, I could NOT have possibly known that your typing of See-Sharp was an accident and you meant Cue-Sharp. I could NOT have possibly known that you "simply misspoke." Don't blame me for your error. Failure to observe yourself will bar your progress in development (that's snark for "grow up" in case you didn't know).

never surprised to see a programmer ambling around like their wand is dragging on the floor.
if you can't understand something then it's a personal problem. nothing is obliged to explain itself to you more than it does already. as for Islam specifically, AC said on several occasions what his reasoning behind the admiration for it was. but people change and so do their opinions. as someone who was brought up with the Plymouth Brethren i'm sure anything that wasn't explicitly self-denying and effacing was a marvel to him.
as for "Quantum Thelema", we are not volunteer researchers. if you have a point, do a little research, and posit something for discussion. don't come on here and ask other people to do your homework for you and then bitch about it.
