Thanks so much! I'm at the end of my Probationer year actually and I have been doing LBRP daily with my two fingers (crouching tiger hidden dragon style.. heh) this whole time I just want to put more power into it or make it more official ya know.. "Onward to the breach, dear friends." I have used a wand sometimes because I do have several of them on hand regularly since I'm a fire dancer. It seemed appropriate since it's a flaming pentagram...

But I love the idea of making my own dagger!! It will be a challenge but I think that's precisely the level of sacredness I'm looking for.. Yay

Can anyone give me some advice on selecting a dagger/knife/sword to use in rituals like the LBRP (not representing air). I'm afraid the specifications are so trivial that I'm at a loss entirely! I know it sounds silly.. but using a pocket knife from my toolbox or a bread knife from my kitchen seems profane. I feel like I should acquire a new blade for this purpose exclusively since extending my Will is no small thing.. but where does one buy such things? A magic store? Heh.. I don't think a special edition fantasy piece with a wizard holding a lead crystal is right for me. I'm no fool for novelty items plus my finances require sensibility.. but a dollar store purchase seems like it wouldn't be significant enough. Help! Any suggestions or resources appreciated

93 I always have to be the hippie on this forum.. or maybe it's just the female perspective that's lacking... Some of you guys seem to think being victorious in a cock fight means you've accomplished your Will. I think your Will successfully navigated would have been to avoid any such conflict because LOVE is the law!

So what if that star having gone off course is, by chance, not on a direct path that will collide with yours however is careening towards a heavily populated region of stars whom you know to be a vital part of the universe? Do you intervene? I believe sometimes we find ourselves in a certain place/time where we realize our Will might mean for us to sacrifice our life as an act of Love under Will. For to knowingly allow a crime against the sanctity of sovereigns is to be just as guilty as he who would commit such violation. Why? Because it all comes down to intention! If you kill another to save yourself because you love yourself above all others you are NOT doing your Will because you were not living by the Law bringing you to this junction. You can't go on a self serving rampage and assume anyone with the audacity to humble you is alienating your rights.

I think Bob Marley said it best with "you can't run away from yourself". Just the fact that you said "to do it and get away with it" means you know "it" was WRONG. From all my knowledge and experience the only way a person can put some sort of hex on you to gain control of your thoughts and reactions is if you let them. The only power they can have over you whatsoever is that you gave them by believing their stories and succumbing to your own fears. Many newbies fall prey to this type of energy vampirism because they do not yet know or understand the purpose and practices of True Magick. They've seen enough to know magick works but not enough to know how to use it, for what purposes should it be used, nor how much power they themselves possess already. They are open to this whole new world of both beautiful and terrifying possibilities becoming vulnerable to fictitious suggestions fueling their imagination which becomes prone to paranoia.

I agree with Edward Mason here and he's right about this but I feel like you don't know a banishing. LBRP is great for all general clearing but you might need to find or create some kind of ritual/spell to release your mind, body, and space of the other's negative attachment. What worked for me (yeah, I've been in this situation a few times at least) was taking all photographs, notes, gifts etc. or if you have no personal remnants associated with them find/make an object, drawing, or find some image that's a strong representation of the person's entity.. Then burn it (in a flame proof container, outdoors preferably! Be calm, focused, and safe, not in a frenzy!) saying something like "Toxic fire away from my sanctity" fanning all smoke away from you. "leaving ashen wings to find true destiny." My favorite people banishing spell if you seriously need to remove a person from your reality is to (while picturing their face) say "God bless you, and God keep you, far, far away.."

I was taught this shield back when I was in my teens/early 20's when I suspected metaphysical attacks sent towards me: Visualize yourself surrounded by an amethyst crystal that becomes reflective like a mirror on the outside so that all who would harm you sees their own reflection knowing no one will not harm their own self (graduated version of I am rubber you are glue..) If you practice this shield everyday it will eventually be present without needing your attention. You can even strengthen this further by emanating love towards everybody as if you see your own reflection in them making it impossible to absorb any kind of negativity because you're constantly radiating a higher vibration that's powerfully expansive and harmonious to the universe. I know I'm sounding new age and hippie but it works to love your enemies...

What I was trying to say is that to me blood symbolizes redemption, not death and destruction. Ownership of the forces that are in command is the best card we have to play. We have to decide what is most important, money, greed, and it's power, or life, light, and liberty. Being governed with laws that our internal moral make-up would dictate to us anyway if we were allowed to hear its voice is insulting to our intelligence and assumes the worst of us without allowing the natural course to see it's day.. Despite of everything we are truly good at heart and perhaps anarchy would not be quite as horrific as we have been lead to think it may..

He who fights by the sword dies by the sword. That doesn't seem to accomplish anything but basic karmic retribution. To kill is to be killed. I certainly don't think any corporate sponsored wars over claims to profitable commodities gets anyone's attention beyond the effect it has on market rates...

It doesn't appear that many folks have noticed the massive increase in extinction rates either. But there's nothing like a clap of thunder, crashing tidal wave, or feeling the earth shake to make people reconsider what is law. I think the planet being bathed in blood is the acceptance our mutual responsibility to all walks of life. The Great War will be fought within...

Crowley wrote 777 in 1912 so it doesn't go back much further than the Golden Dawn. To go back further you'd have to look at the history of tarot from the gypsies of the Mediterranean. Lord of Abundance would be Bacchus, Spirit of the Waters Neptune/Poseidon. Also the Lesser Arcana can readily be found in Astrology. The stars go back as far as we can possibly remember...

I've reconsidered my statements and I do recall a certain time in my life when I can only describe that it was necessary to for me walk into a very dark place (if you could call it that) or situation where it was critical for me to be sort of undercover and conceal my purpose or intention as it felt I may be destroyed. I had to dim down my light to just a spark so that I could hide my true nature and wait til the time was right to fan it back to life. I can hardly describe exactly what the operation was only that it came from a higher calling but it was certainly mandatory to not draw the attention of the egregore like you said so I think I do understand to what you're referring...

Kuniggety is right as far as I can tell about PATIENCE! I waited a whole year after first making contact with my lineage before being accepted as a "student" officially, I thought it might have been the end of my "probationer" year but no such luck.. One thing I might add is that I did slowly accumulate all of the printed texts on AC's required student reading list for the A.'.A.'. but my lineage had updated it quite a bit for the current times so if you're strapped for cash like I was ya might want to wait until you have a specific reading list from the particular line to which you're applying. You can embark upon it on your own certainly and read all of the original selections which are all most definitely profound. I think the most important thing is just putting it out there to the universe how serious you are about studying and what you would like to manifest into your life... Blessed be!

Well thanks for validating that I'm not way off in left field in my thinking but it seems so backwards still to me. I originally thought for quite some time that Kether was the Sun because it felt like the ultimate attainment (which it likely is actually) and finding it represented by Tiphareth was fine by me making it half the distance and way more possible to reach.. But if Pluto/Kether is about "being utterly different" and unique why is that precisely what we manifest here on this plane? (wait where am i?) I always thought Kether is where we finally become ONE again.

But this thread is about SLEEP so I must be dreaming which brings me to why would you want to cloak your light in the astral or any other place? What have you really got to hide or hide from?!

So I too read the book by Regardie recently. I noticed a similarity with the Middle Pillar Ritual and one I've practiced a bit called the Merkaba (field around your body in the shape of a 3 dimensional 6 pointed star) Meditation taught in Drunvalo Melchizedek's Flower of Life workshops. It has you do both breathe the light down from your crown chakra, out through your heart (you can fill a room with prana or send out some good vibes to the world), back in then down to your base chakra (since we're dealing with the chakra system it's a sitting meditation opposed to standing, going out your feet- You are suppose to imagine an anchor hanging from the end of your spine going deep into the earth grounding you), then back up recirculating it and so forth. I like it slightly better because of the emphasis of opening the heart center! From my experience you won't get much out of raising kundalini (or worse) without an activated heart chakra so perhaps it is best to use the Middle Pillar ritual before attaining 5=6 (?!- not that I have officially..) Unfortunately it doesn't fully go into it here but you can find it explained in his book without going to an actual workshop, or rent/buy videos of the complete workshop which I think is amazing! www.floweroflife.org/tmerkaba.htm

I've noticed there's different forms/traditions of magick. Some would have you burn something to purify it, others bury it or give it back to the earth. Since as above so below I guess it doesn't really matter since Kether is in Malkuth. I'm currently confused as to whether Malkuth is the planet Earth or Pluto since the heart or Sun is Tiphareth but that's just my trip at the moment....

So there's more animals being bred for food or novelty than the amount of species becoming extinct each day?! Then the bible must be right with "the lord is our shepherd and we are His sheep."

However my cat is way closer to a zen master than I may ever be I do believe and 'Johnathon Livingston Seagull' evolved by mastering the art of diving out of the sky. So it was a fictional story probably but there was something in it that felt like the same kind of truth I recognize as a part of my soul! I disagree, not that there's necessarily a wrong or right, but I believe the cup (feminine) refers to the 2 sexual fluids combined being the essence of creation into form as substantial matter from two half's (X & Y chromosomes more or less). In the cauldron is added equal opposites returning this matter to its original primal essence or energy (think force, fire, or light, masculine) thus negating itself said best in Liber vel Legis as "unite by thine art so that all disappear."

These give us the 2 requirements for life as we know it 1.) a physical body- yin 2.) the spirit, soul, or anima- yang. It also can be compared to Heaven (cauldron/ fire) and Earth (cup/ water)

I've definitely felt some people are brand new, others very, very old, and then sometimes especially in children more recently it seems there's simply nobody home.. I ponder it quite often the fact that there's more people alive on Earth now than have ever lived before total (as far as we know from recorded history) so where are the souls coming from? As far as incarnating in groups there's a whole bunch of theories in new age circles and here on the thread I started awhile back about the "indigo children" especially pertaining to this statement below:

I would say that describes me mostly but the transcendence is not about me alone! It's my Will to transcend but to lead by example triggering a higher vibration in all carbon based lifeforms through their interconnectivity known as the hundredth monkey theory.. As far as "soul groups" I personally have a handful of friends I feel I've known for thousands of years and have a bond with tighter than blood could ever be. This is a mutual feeling that was present instantly if not anticipated weeks before meeting this time round...

I do see the solar/lunar similarities in XIV and XVIII but it's my understanding in Art it's a cauldron not a chalice or graal. Not that this should discourage you by any means to find significance for your own use...

Attempting to investigate this thread to see if any of my random foolish wisdom might be expressed but instead I got totally confused- there's too many references to the Moon being planet, card, sephiroth, Hebrew, and path... But then looking at graphics I have of the tree a few have completely different placements of the tarot along the paths! One has the Sun (tarot) on Gimel?

Can anyone refer me to a good graphic online that's correct for our system with readable text of both the cards and Hebrew please?
