For a while I have discussed using the full letter spelling of each Hebrew letter with many members in various orders who agree on the full letter spelling while others say it is ridiculous. So my question to members here is do you use only the letter or full spelling? As an example Beth is the house but if you combine the Yod which is hand along with the Tav the 4 elements you have then a house & hand & elemental cross which then provides the deeper meaning to the Magus card. Also there is a lot of confusion on the shape of each letter, for instance Tav is said to be a Resh with a Yod by some. Others say it is the Daleth/Door with a Nun also with the shape of Beth I personally see a Resh sitting on a horizontal base while I have read that Case says the Beth is made up of 3 Vavs. I don't see that nor agree with that. The Resh is the solar energy descending into the head. Beth is the transparent intelligence which allows the light of wisdom to enter the mind which has to be a clear channel. So I see this meaning as using our mind to focus our attention and will to create with the 4 elements. I don't know if this is correct as I am trying to connect the dots as they say. As for as the double letter life/death Case says what we give our attention to becomes alive & what we ignore dies. What do the rest of you think?

Hmmmmm so does he explain about the tiger biting the fool on his thigh or just a few symbols? As for as the decans
related to the small cards does he explain the planet & sign with the meaning & the sephira? For example the 9/swords Mars in Gemini does he go deeply into the astrology & is it the same meanings he gave in his book? I thought that he would cover all of the symbols in the Trumps not just a few. I don't know if i should buy it does the ordering info say anything about refunds?

Has anyone purchased the dvds that Lon Duquette made regarding the sexual alchemy in the thoth tarot as well as coverage of the rest of the cards? I know the focus is on the 22 trumps so does he explain all the symbolism in each major trump? How well does he explain the rest of the small cards & suits? I was thinking about buying it but before
i spend the $148 i would like to know if it is really worth it?

I wanted to ask you about the breakdown of a minor card & how exactly to apply all the info? For example the 7/swords well we have Netzach of air/aquarius, you give conniving, deceitful & unreliable. How would Venus in air bring about this meaning? Now we look at the combination of Venus/Moon which you say desire for comfort as one meaning. Then of course Moon/Aquarius with these meanings, love of abundance, fascinated by display, to spy upon others. How did you arrive at these meanings? How is the moon or aquarius giving these meanings? Please explain this to me so i can see how you arrived at these meanings?

I was wanting to know the meaning to the hebrew letter words/symbols when they are broken down using other cards. For example Beth is house but when you break it down you also have the hermit card & the meaning of hand as well as the card the universe which is cross. So what do we make of the symbol of the house & hand & cross? What meaning does this further give the card? In 777 the magus is called the juggler with the secret of the universe but i know there is a deeper meaning so could someone explain this to me?

Jim i wish then you would provide an astrological explanation explaining the Sun's energy & how it reacts in Gemini. Don't use any key words just a full out explanation. I figured this paper was old just by the way it was worded.

I thought i would share this explanation of the Sun in Gemini it is from the grade papers of the Golden Dawn it is pretty technical but some of you may understand it.

10= A fixed & completed force.
Ashim = The souls of fire. These complete their work which is to break up, disintegrate & ruin the astral form that it may pass through the negative veils to be reborn in Kether of Assiah.
Sun = Very fiery energy, destructive unless it acts on a very solid material foundation & is modified.
Acting on Gemini the tenuous or most airy of air signs it is destructive.
Compare the deadly arrows of Apollo. Here the ideas take form, but the astral shells are broken up in Ruin by the souls of fire so that the forms may be reborn in the material world.

Ok well thats from the Golden Dawn papers don't know how old it is but thought this would be interesting for everyone to see & think on.

The reason i bring up the Saturn & hourglass is b/c in the book i have by Michael Snuffin he says that this is what those symbols mean. He has stated in his book that he is a ceremonial magician & intitiate of the O.T.O as well as founder of the Temple of Light & Darkness. Am i being misled here in his book?

Thanks Jim for the info. So i guess the scales being Libra & the hourglass representing Saturn can be looked at Saturn exalted in Libra or is this just another symbol Harris added for the hell of it?

Ok i owe you an apology so sorry. Well why do you think Crowley put those damn compassses on the specific 2 cards that are in Chokmah & Binah? I still think their is more to the symbolism going on here than meets the eye. Nothing is worse than trying to find out/learn about something when other people have the answer but won't share it with you it's not like i am asking for top secret documents it's only symbols.

Yes i have owned & read the BOT for 16yrs it says nothing of the compasses anywhere in the book. You know rifraff i am not an idiot when it comes to the Thoth tarot even though you think i am sorry to disappoint you. Then you tell me where in the BOT it talks about the Compasses on the hilts of the 2 swords since you seem to know so much but yet add nothing to my posts.

I wanted to see if anyone knew the symbolic meaning of the 2 compasses on the hilts of the 2 swords with one being in Chokmah & the other in Binah. Also inside the 2 compasses is that an hourglass symbol?
Moving along the top sword which is in Kether has a scale on it's hilt what is the meaning of this symbol? The pentagram at the bottom is a symbol of man as well as Mars the Moon at the hilt on the bottom sword has to do with the unconscious thoughts which have now come to the surface. Would anyone agree on the hour glass symbol which relates to Saturn & the scales which is Libra so we have Saturn exalted in Libra also?

Well at the risk of being insulted i thought i would post again & see if anyone can explain to me the astrology of the planet Venus when it is in the sign of Aquarius & how these bring about the meaning of "Defeat" in the 5 of swords. I would like to get a fresh perspective instead of the same old explanation of Venus being to weak in the sephira of Geburah. Throw in some mythology if you need to.

Regarding the 7 of swords & the symbols on each sword i have come up with this info. The central sword has been constructed very well & is very large with the Sun on it's hilt. The other small 6 swords which have the planets on the handle are futile due to not being able to grasp the sword as well as the other 6 planets energies are no match for the Sun hence Futility occurs. The waning Moon also symbolizes a weak mind & emotions.

I will be posting a lot of questions regarding various cards of the Thoth Tarot so i hope this isn't a problem. I look forward to hearing from Thoth Tarot experts regarding the Tarot.

Hello i guess i should have made my question more clear in my earlier posting regarding the 9 of wands. I know the Moon brings change but what does the influence of Sagittarius the archer mean in this card?
