Nice point!
I'm just trying to understand M.T. sign as good as I can since I lack the actual experience this sign represents.
Reading Crowley and comparing his writings helps to certain degree but It can also be confusing or I'm simply not ready/able to understand.
Thank you for sharing your opinion with me!
Thank you for answering!
Ok, I get what you mean. Your explanation probably goes more in the line of: "being received and reconstructed in the Third Order, as a Babe in the womb of our Lady BABALON, under the Night of Pan, to grow up to be Himself wholly and truly as He was not previously"(OSIS). Would you agree?
But, I'm still curious. If you would have to define this child in terms of Kabbalah/Tree of Life, how would you do it? Does it then "belong" to Binah or somewhere else?
I have a question regarding Mater Triumphans gesture as the sign of 8=3
To be more precise, I'm curious about the "identity" of the child Ma(s)ter is holding. By identity I mean symbolic meaning of this child.
I have few soultions of my own and would like to hear your comments about it.
**1. The child is Yechidah- Keter.
**Explanation: One of possible translations of Yechidah is "only child" (Judges 11:34). From mythological standpoint child is obviously Harpocrates as Mater is Asi and Harpocrates can correspond to Keter. "...the pure Being invented as an aspect of pure Nothing." (Book of Thoth)
Besides this, child as "Crowned and Conquering Child" corresponds to Keter as well.
**2. The child is Ruach- Any possible aspect-sephira of Ruach but Tiphereth in general
**Explanation: After the crossing of the Abyss the formula of attainment shifts from "male" to "female". Magister Templi becomes unified with the Mother and begets a child. But this child must finally separate from the Mother. Dissolution of the ego of Adept into the Cup is considered Solve part of the formula while separation of the child from the Mother, Coagula. (Book of Lies, 3)
This Coagula process could be the same proccess described as:
""Every active Member of the Order has destroyed all that He is and all that He has on crossing the Abyss; but a star is cast forth in the Heavens to enlighten the Earth, so that he may possess a vehicle wherein he may communicate with mankind. " (OSIS)
"But to him who would be a Master of the Temple, the reverse applies. He wishes to remain perpetually in Samadhi, and it is therefore his renunciation to descend further and further into matter. He has volatilized the fixed; now he must fix the volatile. He has ascended from his particular body to the Universal Soul. That Universal Soul must now incarnate itself ever more completely in that body, and in the bodies and minds of all men.....The Master of the Temple has given birth to a child, which child appears as an Adept among men. But that which was the Adept is but a little pile of dust...He has finished with Solve. He must begin Coagula….And in relation to his body and mind he is but a vehicle of the forces that are beyond the Abyss. He will therefore speak, but as a man among men, of that which he has seen and heard." (TSK)
Also in "The Wake world" under Binah we read: "By and by you see a tremendous blaze of a new sun in the Sixth House, and you are as glad as glad as glad; and there are millions of trumpets blown, and voices crying: 'Hail to the Fairy Prince!' meaning the new one that you have had for your baby" The Latin word Puerperium on the side denotes "giving birth" and Partus, aforementioned separation process.
What this could mean in very practical terms is, in order to fully function in the outer world, M.T. has to "resurrect" his previously destroyed Ego-Ruach which is not anymore the boss but consecrated vehicle of the Neschamah and the channel for manifestation of the Supernals on the lower plane.
The gesture of suckling points to unbreakable connection of this restructured Ruach-baby to mother-Neschamah.
In this context, Harpocrates as child corespond to magical image of Tiphereth.
What are your thoughts on this?
93!
From time to time while researching various Thelema/Magick related topics, I would end up on this forum usually finding relevant and helpful info. Finally I decided to register but activation seemed never to arrive. After few attempts, here I am!
Basically, I have few very specialized questions connected to current research I'm doing and I'm looking forward to see what the good people of this forum will answer.
The topic I'm interested in is the role of the subtle body in the process of crossing the Abyss.
Besides this, I consider myself Thelemite for more then 20 years. I read a lot and I do daily practice of my own design that reflects my current understanding of my Will.
