Thank you for your insight Mr. Eshelman! It cleared up a lot for my friend. I must say that my friend does acknowledge a power greater than them. I unfortunately did not covey the question in the best of terms. Thank you again and I look forward to reading your book!

Thelema and the twelve steps. -
Thelema and the twelve steps.I am not 100% sure if this should go in this board or not but I have a rather nagging question. I have a friend and this friend is in a twelve step program. Now this program is spiritual not religious. Is there anyone that has found success in working a twelve step program and a system of magick specifically Thelema? Also with said friend’s very limited understanding of Thelema the phrase “turn your will over to the care of a god of your understanding” has left this person a little confused. I’m not here to espouse one fellowship over another or cause a flame war like I’ve seen in other threads concerning this topic. This is just some confusion on my friend’s part that someone may have some guidance on. In the spirit of anonymity please try and keep the actual names of said programs to a minimum and if someone feels better about PMing or emailing me please feel free. Thank you for reading!

Newbie HelpHi all!
I have a few newbie questions that maybe some of you could help me with. I've been through most of the "beginners" topics and jotted down the reading lists some of you have provided in them. I have the Liber AL vel Legis and was looking to purchase the commentaries on it. I found The Law Is For All by Israel Regardie and another version by Frater Superior Hymenaeus Beta. Are there any differences between these books that I should know about before reading them? Also, I read online that Israel Regardie's version of Magick Without Tears is heavily edited. Is that true? If so is there anywhere I may find a complete version of this text? And finally: can anyone recommend a book that I should start with? Thank you for your time and I look forward to your answers!

VeganForSeitanGood evening!
My name is Dan and I'm 25 years old. I found this forum after searching for a beginners reading list to Thelema. I've been fascinated with Aleister Crowley from an early age and tried to make the jump into Thelema at the age of 18. Unfortunately I was not spiritually or mentally ready for this kind of study and was forced to call it a quits after attempting the lesser banishing ritual a few times. Now that I've grown a bit (I like to think so at least) I really would like to give this study another go. This forum has already been immensely helpful and I wanted to join so one day I may give back to the community. Thanks for reading!
