Interesting reflection! Didn't Crowley say or imply, as a matter of fact, that it is not humans nor orders per se that provide grades and initiations but rather the grades are bestowed by Secret Chiefs? Or maybe that was just my interpretation of/personal reflection or wisdom learned via his account of initiation to the Master Templi grade by way of said Secret Chiefs through his operations. I do sometimes project =P

    And welcome Zarko V!

Re: "Secret Chiefs," you mis-infer. Perhaps you mean "HGA." That's closer to accurate.

What I said in my post above is truth. I will say no more on it.

Hello, my name is Rutzar, I'm 23 years old and live in Portugal.
I started studying the occult a few months ago, triggered by some curiosity that I've always had.
The thing that made me study and guided me to thelema, started when I watched the movie "Dark Song" that tells a story about a woman performing the ritual of abramelin.
I read about the book of abramelin, that lead me to Aleister Crowley and he lead me to Thelema.

I've praticed meditation, Asana, Pranayama, Dharana and the LBRP.

I know I have a lot to learn.

I have already read Living Thelema, New Aeon Magick, Liber Al vel Legis, Kybalion, some libers like liber 0, E, 777, etc.

I hope you can guide me and help me in my journey.

    Thank you.

    93, Rutzar, welcome aboard!

Based on what you wrote, I would wholeheartedly recommend these 2 books:

Welcome, good to hear that you are giving yourself
    time to study and grow.
I'm sure it can be difficult with your demanding life,
but I bet you'll be better off for doing so.
    Anyway, nice to meet you.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law,

Thanks for the well-wishing! Made it into Seattle and fell in love. Found an apartment and a jobby in <48 hours. Burning some sage I stole from Badlands National Park in my new home!

Crowley's essays on "the Herb Dangerous" provide a lot of insight onto the use of that herb as a tool, as well as Israel Regardie's essay "Roll Away the Stone" that further elaborates on Crowley's essays. Keep in mind that the "samples" Crowley used were exponentially weaker than what's available now and of a single variety.

Like I said, it's a tool to be used, and like any other tool, it's not useful for everything. A hammer can drive nails better than a pen, but is useless as a writing implement.

    Welcome, Eleutherios!

I can't offer anything first hand myself but have you checked out Lashtal.com? I haven't spent much time over there but, from what I gleaned, they do have more of an historical/literary focus. I'm pretty sure at least one of the active forum members was in the Typhonian Order, possibly high up if I remember correctly.
