    TRUCE
    (Previously called “Rest From Strife”)
    Four of Swords

Meditation Pattern: Place Atu X, Fortune, and Atu VIII, Adjustment, side-by-side, with the 4 of Swords above them.

Traditional Description: Four swords, two extending from each side of the image, cross in the center. The rose of five petals with white radiations is reinstated on the point of their intersection. Above and below, on the points of two small daggers, are the symbols of Jupiter and Libra, representing the Decanate.

Chesed of Air: Convalescence, recovery, restoration. Stabilizing change for the better. Relief from anxiety, refuge from mental chaos, rest from strife. Authority in the intellectual world; establishment of dogma, convention, standardization.

Jupiter/Libra: Rest from strife; yet after it and through it. Peace from and after strife; resolution of conflicts, bestowing calm; a sense of justice. Quietness, rest, ease, popularity, plenty, yet after struggle. Goods of this life; social enjoyment; abundance.

Jupiter + Jupiter: (Reinforces all Jupiter traits.)

    • An agreement; treaty; arrangement to the satisfaction of all parties included; compromise; the merciful aspect of justice.
    • Benevolent influence of the word (written and spoken); basic ideas (like structured whole, an assemblage, aggregate) on which a particular school of though is based.
    • Overview of the wider picture (and its horizons) of a given particular phenomena.
    • An expert in his/her area; doctor of sciences.

    • Axioms, theorems (in both humanities and natural sciences).
    • “Happy bargain”, a pact, mutually accepted medium of collusion for the larger number of included parties; success in trial and other questions of law.
    • Proclamation of the verdict/judgement; just, righteous judgement; reading and writing of the law(s); the constitutional law (the Constitution).
    • Academic success based on authentic work and effort; earned and deserved social tribute or rebuke.
    • Mind oriented toward contributing to community; patriotism (in the healthy sense of the word; but also its flip side, nationalism with various extreme features).

    • Intellectual and spiritual heritage.
    • World order: covenants, conventions, agreements that establish it, laws on which it’s based upon.
    • Wholesome thought-systems (for example, Hegel, Kant, etc.).
    • Certitude and stability of circumstances; but: tendency to decay in this.
    • Peak of development of the human intellect (across the Abyss it’s not “human” anymore in the usual sense of the word).
    • Observation of patterns and laws, measurement, comparison – the basis of science (scientific method).

    Day one:
order established after quarreling & unrest, a peace offering after a period of fighting, balance restored, a favorable change in circumstances after a period of shitty circumstances, making amends, a shift in perspective that brings power freedom peace of mind & full self-expression, regaining mental stability, restoring the integrity of a situation or relationship

    Day two:
making sense out of something that made no sense, willfully giving up the right to fight and looking at things from another perspective, going from not getting along to being amicable, establishing control & dominion over one's thoughts, leveling the playing field in a fight or contest, balancing the distribution of power in a situation

    Day three:
restoration of workability, mutually beneficial compromises being made, diffusion of a hostile situation through focusing on the similarities of all parties, generating the willingness to work with rather than work against, a short & abrupt period of not fighting, an armistice
