Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Greetings,
Obviously I am new to the forums, but have been stalking for quite a few months now. It is strange to be posting introducing myself when I feel as though I have gotten to know (to an extent) a few of the regular members just through their posts.
Anyway, I am excited to jump into the discussions and grow with each of you. I discovered Thelema just a few months ago, and having since adopted its teachings into my everyday life, I have noticed a difference in several things. Just prior to my discovery of Thelema, I had a huge urge to develop my spirituality and was feeling my way through different philosophies. My initial leaning was towards Buddhism, as I have always related more closely with Eastern religions. I was raised as a Christian but upon my entry into young adulthood, I quickly learned that it was not for me. I asked questions that preachers and parents didn't like to hear. I focused my spiritual curiousity into academia through the study of Philosophy and Psychology, which was accompanied by dabbling into World Religions. My curiosity waned as I got older and became more preoccupied by adult life and responsibilities.
My spiritual curiousity grew much more just recently, and in my searching I stumbled upon Liber AL vel Legis. I read it and the Comment, and had some sort of realization. I am not sure what exactly I experienced but it spoke to me, and I knew there was something here in this book that would dramatically change my view of the world and myself.
I then began to investigate Thelema more and more and the teachings and...interesting life of Aleister Crowley. I reached out to my local OTO lodges and discussed some questions with members there. I also reached out to the A.'.A.'. to discuss my interest in their group. I received the Student Syllabus and have begun to obtain the books listed on it. I have finished The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage as well as the Spiritual Guide, which I will be posting later reviews of for discussion.
Anywho, without rambling (too late), I will conclude my introductory statement by reiterating my excitement to be here with all of you and I look forward to growing and discovering myself further.
TLDR VERSION: Hi, I am noob at Thelema and want to learn more about it. Glad to be here and thanks.
