**41. Then the bird desired exceedingly this bliss, and laying down its wings became a faun of the forest.
42. The harper also laid down his Pan-pipe, and with the human voice sang his infinite tunes.
**It occurs to me now, more specifically, one line has been about the changing of outward forms and the other has been about the change of the musical instrument. The harper remains the harper - that hasn't changed, but his instrument has. I gather that the "thing" that animates the dolphin which has become a bird and faun is the same "thing" that has only changed outward forms. For now it appears for the fun of it, for bliss, existence is pure joy.
