A couple of questions about the LBRH:

If you're using your finger to draw the hexagrams instead of a ritual knife, when performing the Analysis of the Keyword, and before you say 'The Sign of Osiris Slain', what position should your hands be in? Should you have them at your sides and then move into the Sign of Osiris Slain when you say that phrase, or maybe start off in the Sign of Osiris Slain at the outset and stay in the that sign when saying, 'The Sign of Osiris Slain'?

What is the correct way of drawing the Banishing Hexagram of Water? I've seen it done in a couple of ways but I'm assuming the Hexagram of Water below is correct because, although it looks as thought it's moving in a different direction to the other hexagrams, you are using the banishing hexagrams of Saturn, so you are moving AWAY from Saturn, which is situated at the apex of the top, upside down triangle?

Liber O is clear on both these points. "Stand upright, feet together, left arm at side, right across body, holding the wand or other weapon upright in the median line." In your case, your finger is the weapon.
Your Hexagram is correct insofar as direction is concerned (though not for the reason you think), but the instruction you copied shows the triangles are drawn in the wrong order, i.e. the lower triangle should be traced first. Again, see Liber O.

Ah right, thanks. I wasn't sure if this applied to the finger or not. When he says 'across the median line', does this mean putting the hand diagonally across the body so that the knife (or finger) would be touching the left shoulder?

"Is there a reason why quite a lot of people have the Banishing Hexagram of Water as in the picture I posted above? Is it just a common mistake or is there any thinking behind it?

Crowley wrote "upright", not across. Point your finger upright, pointing toward the firmament. I don't know the reason for this modification you've found. I don't think it's a common mistake at all, but maybe I run with the wrong crowd. My best guess is somebody wanted to trace the water triangle first for this hexagram, but it's only a guess.

Liber O in Equinox had the error. I'm pretty sure anyplace else you see it is simply a plagiarism, i.e., someone directly copied the Equinox copy.

Yeah, pretty sure all trigrams are trace clock-wise with all hexagrams.
Hail Eris!
All Hail Discordia!! -
Oh, and are traced starting from the pinnacant or descecant point, (top or bottom-most point.)
Have no idea what those first two words are actually. I'm like a child that only remembers part of the puzzle, (for the Angels only gives us a part,) but I am one of the older and learned children on the playground, so I just say what I want when I want, and hope I have helped someone.
Have fun, kiddos.
I think I'll go without getting blasted today,
Or maybe I Will. It's the Law, anyways.Hail Eris!
All Hail Discordia!! -
Because the trigrams go a long wa-be for the pinnacant, and a long way-be hind the descecant.
??
Yes, that's it. Clockwise. With the Sun in their current for invocation.
And vice-versa for verses written when one is under the influence of one's vice.
Hail Eris!
All Hail Discordia!! -
In the generic (lesser) hexagram, the hexagrams are all inaugurated from the Saturn point, i.e., the apex of the up-pointing triangle. That's the tiny puzzle people are struggling with here regarding the Water hexagram.
