Crowley's flawed Paris workings?
-
I'm on page 98 of esteemed occultist's (Ophiel/Norman Pearce) Art and practice of astral projection Weiser 1980. He says that Crowley didn't make any money via the Jupiterean Paris working (1919) because he was wrong about his choice of sephiroth. All he received was visions, He should've used a "God of the earth plane" and not some archetypal God (i.e Jupiter) of a high abstract plane.
Is this nonsense?

There are different valid approaches. Jupiter in Assiyah is as "Earth plane" as is anything else. Whether this was the right choice for AC is another matter.
I think the bigger issue is that there is no area of practical magick more screwed up than money, and AC certainly had no more realistic view of the nature and meaning of money than most people - in fact, he seems to have been less in touch with it than most. Money is rarely the right object of a working - it's rarely the real purpose. Money is nearly always a means. If money is not the means but an intrinsic end, then that's like asking for constipation.
The magician usually should be indifferent to the means. Don't micro-manage the universe, just make your clear, righteous, relevant demands on it.
PS - I think people keep missing that, with hardly having a day of actual employment in his life (well, there was that stint at The International), he lived quite comfortably during most parts of his life and essentially always had what he needed and more. He had more actual prosperity than 95% of all people you likely know today.

Granted, his father did leave him that brewing company.
Like Donald Trump having to work his way up from that million-dollar loan his father gave him.
Aside from having prosperous and generous fathers, I think this is where the Trump-Crowley comparison ends.

Unless Trump escaped the fate of 99% of his countrymen, they were both circumcised as well.
