Virtual Nation

Now, of course someone could come up with a new model unlike anything that has been seen in the world before. But even the Jewish nation existed as a people, rather than a nation, during centuries of diaspora, and I doubt there is a better example to be found in history. If you can come up with a theory that (1) is pragmatic, (2) would allow a nation to exist in the context of the world community of nations, and (3) would allow for all the conditions of governance, yet (3) has no linkage of the nation's citizens en masse to a piece of eral estate, please start a new link and post it. It is difficult for me to consider, though, how a nation could guarantee and enforce the rights of its citizens if the entirety of the population lived in other nations with their own laws; and the same for the government drawing upon the duties of its citizenry to support and further the nation.
.funny enough this is the exact concept for one of my current projects; entitled "Mutant Nation" lets call it a semi-fictional story line conceived as a philosophical and political backdrop for some more elaborate technical speculation, a model which is directly related to the rest of your quote below.Very good point about the Jewish people, which is deserving of thorough consideration
The most ideal government is self-government. When a mass of millions of cohabiting individuals can demonstrate that they actually can pull this off, then the withdrawal of external government is possible. That would take probably two or three generations of demonstration. There remains, though, the issue of the coexisting of the nation with other nations, who won't deal with masses in general (unless, say, they assimilate them) - compare what happened with the Maori.
Such a model I believe is imperative for our long term survival as a species(Our Collective Will)!Much the same way a child only needs a parent when it is still immature. The issue of co-habitation is increasingl becoming less relevant. I will read up on the Maori you mentioned. this is an excerpt from the introduction

"Denial is the most predictable of all human responses, if we as a species remain too dumb to recognize the fact that all our philosophies, virtues, and lofty aspirations are reduced to naught if we fail to survive as a species for the long term: this is the single genetic goal that unites all of us, and it is counterproductive if individual goals and the goals of political sub-groups working within imaginary parameters ultimately contradict that. Today we live in a society that is structured such that what is most necessary for our survival as a species may be most unacceptable or inconvenient for society and its conventions, this is evidently a structural flaw, that possibility must be eliminated for us to stand a chance of surviving, since the odds are already against the long-term survival of any species. Society must be restructured such that what is most necessary for our survival as a species is automatically not only the most acceptable for it but the most pertinent."
the question of pragmatism is addressed by the above quote as to say what is necessary must become what is pragmatic otherwise we are surely living in a virtual reality! i will surely post the link but it is sill in th early stages, all ideas and comments are welcomed
Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri have extremely relevant books "War & Democracy in the age of Empire, in their book "Multitude" a follow up to their original work "Empire"

This is an excellent thought to be concidering for I do believe that the people of the United states of America are livign such a life right now.
Our founding Fathers declared that we are Stars, that we are Sovierene in our own right, not subjects to a crown. That is what the Declaration established. To clairfy the Declaration they wrote the Constitution to protect us from the Law, from the Government. Unfortunately our COostitution (and esp the Ammendment) established a duality in our country. Our legal rights as garenteed by the Declaration of Independence are still vaild, but if you claim them as your own, you step out of the game.
Big Brother wont let us take our toys and go home. What seems to be ruling now is Contract Law, and agreements.
Police and courts are tax collectors and our tax money is not being spent here that is for sure!
We have been a Nation in debt and ruled by outsiders from the get go.(shameless plug Mary Croft has an excellent pdf book on the net called how I Clobbered every cash confiscating agency known to man, lots of great history and insight)
I personally do like the way the world is running and I want to do everything I possibly can to change our direction. It has been my main magickal focus for 2 decades now.
